The Community's "Great" Attitude

People keep saying that "the ban system sucks" and "banning for language is a joke". Why? The logic behind it makes sense, brutally* attacking people multiple times should get you at least a chat ban. Would you say "stop sucking you %%%got" to someone's face in real life? No, and if you did you would get what you disserve. So why do you do it on the Internet?

Honestly there is a simple solution, talk to a **person **;not a username. This whole concept of "it's the internet, deal with it" really is counter productive. It is just an excuse to ignore the problem, and, when ignored, things often tend to get out of hand ( i.e. work/homework). honestly the solution is to just not call people %%%s, shit faces, and fuckers. It's counter productive, mean, and will most likely get you banned.

And if you think the ban system sucks and start calling people out as trolls that are still playing, you probably have a few "language reports" under your belt making you seem less credible, thus making those troll reports seem (in the eyes of the system) like over reactions.

*Brutality is measured by the receiver not the deliverer, something said by you might offend anyone, just look at tumbler.

Since you ask about real life, I'm going to open your eyes. People compare league to a sport a lot. I play sports. And when i have bad teammates ill be like "dude you suck, how did you miss that ball?" And they'll be like " i know". SO why we can't say to our teammates in league when they fuck up, "dude you suck, how'd you ...?" is beyond me.

Cursing i can't even see. Some people are stupidly sensitive about it. I think it should be ok. Maybe because kids play this game, but that's the only reason.

Also the bit about brutality... go back to tumblr. We're not going to coddle you. You do need to toughen up. You said something about the real world. The real world is hard. People are mean. Here at least they don't play head games to be mean, they tell you exactly what they don't like. Also, the fact that something offends someone is not really a reason for it to stop. "Black people offend me. I don't want to see them." Pretty racist right? But it directly parallels "Cursing offends me. I don't want to hear it." Also for the brutality to be measured by either the receiver or the deliverer would be having it judged with bias. That whole bit honestly showed a lot of ignorance.

No, the solution is that we should be able to say at least that they suck, and use language. Maybe not repeatedly. Like, we can't be harassing them. We can't be saying "You braindead scumfuck piece of shit. You need to be gunned down in the street like the degenerate you are." But we should be able to say ,"Dude, you fucking suck", or "That was shit, why did you ult the support you moron?". It's not that counter productive. It actually alerts them to the fact that they're bad much quicker than saying "that wasn't good". And it shouldn't get us banned. That's actually what this argument is about. You can't use the fact that talking like that will get you banned as evidence that you should be banned for talking like that. That was either an oversight or blatant stupidity.

And yes. The whole "It's the internet, just ignore it" thing actually makes a lot of sense. For bullying and stuff in real life, often the bully can't be avoided. On the internet, it's easy to. especially in league. Just mute them. The bullying goes away instantly. Or ignore it. Or walk away from the screen. Sure, maybe one guy adds you and tries to continue telling you just how much you suck after game, but that's really rare. Usually it's done when the game is over. Honestly you're post is more toxic than most of the shit i see in game. And by toxic i mean bad for the community. shit like this is gonna turn us all into pussies.

A lot of the people complaining about their bans don't say shit like "stop sucking you %%%got".

It's usually just "You're bad", "you're bad because x, y, and you can't even Z", "FF 20 team so bad", and "report X for Y". The kind of shit you see in every game of League of Legends.

League community needs their hands held through every communication that goes on. There's a cool little function, that riot took the time to write into the game, called mute. Now, what mute does-and this might shock you- is it stops the person who you have muted from talking to you. Cool function, but you'd never guess that people knew it existed. If someone is being a dick to your oversensitive self, mute them. Don't like the way someone posted something in game? Mute them. They'll have to use pings. "but for real communication you need text" Not anymore with our fancy ping system. And lets not forget a common punishment for people deemed toxic is a chat ban, where all they can use is pings. So its not that much of a crutch to fall on.

That said, Hate speech of any kind is a different category.

_TL&DR League is full of people who are far too sensitive about what words they read and wont use mute button. _ inb4 triggered sjw's downvote
