League of Tanks™

Disclaimer/this is not a rant, but a mere eye-opener to what is going on as of late/ I think this is a fair bit overdue in the sense that we are getting back to a point in time of League that most all hated. For example, we are that girl that goes back to the abusive boyfriend. The story always follows the same plot, friends say dump him, but for some odd reason you(we) always go back!

Now that we have that out of the way I would like to explain our current dilemma. As of right now many of our bans are going straight to assassins, we feel that we should block out all those that fold us like paper.

Recent Top Bans: -Zed(mobile assassin) -LeBlanc(mobile assassin) -Ahri(mobile assassin) -J4(becoming one as the armor stats go down) -Vi(same j4 boat but no armor nerfs yet mainly mobility and damage, tons) -Considerably any other champ that follows these same traits

That might be screaming "OMG Assassins are frigging OP" and that is right but now it has become so much a fear that we reversed the game almost. One could say jungle diversity is at an all time high, which it might no doubt, with that being said the window was opened for much more than jungle diversity.

Ensue the Tanks Garen Nasus Nautilus Rammus Renekton Chogath AmumuSejuani
Along with many others not pictured above, these are the diverse options being opened up... These wonderful champions all have the ability to build pure don't touch me items, and yet all the while blow your face in with high spell damage(no added bonus ratios needed)

You might think I am a little biased, in which case you are correct but tell me the last time 8 thick-headed tank and 2 ADCs was FUN? If you pay attention slightly, the adc is blown up to entirety by massive amount of CC yet damage dealing tank champs.

Another wonderful example is a game I played today, not that all games are this on repeat but I figured it would be good to pull. Enemy Sejuani and enemy Garen, I could say "nuff said" right there but I will elaborate. In this game both champions bought just about the same items give or take 2 slight differences, one being a jungle and the other a top lane, but none the less. Both had HP tipping over the 4k mark and still had massive AOE funneling in, every fight was similar each team lost the ADC in an instant then the tanks had a noodle fight until one flashed away or something petty.

Turretstickle lasers Either they need a full body rework or some frigging stats need re rigging! It is sad to see a single tank with hold the damage from an inner base turret not once, but three times once a team starts to push. The damage is just not there and as a result you have games end almost prematurely, hint (if you lose all 3 inners and all inhibs it is almost 100% a loss unless you have a Nasus with TP or something ridiculous)

My driving point

I am not here to say that any one meta is better and more healthy for the game than another, but when it is evident that life is beginning to stagnate and return back to former years we might have a problem. If my memory is correct, early in Season 3 this same problem occurred, and it was dealt with in the wrong way. Rito nerfed stats and gave the power to the Zeds and the Talons, since that time we have come a long way and adapted, but now I see we are slipping again.

My hope is that deep consideration would be taken into account to disband this "meta". The only way to moving forward is through much progress and I can't wait to see what RIOT has in store for the rest of 2015!

Thank you for taking the time to read, and if you feel other wise I would love your feedback in the comments below

The jungle tanks are really strong because they usually aren't punished early as much as they used to. I can attest that getting set back as someone like Sejuani or Nautilus or Amumu can be devastating if your lanes are falling behind, too; it's even worse if you have a fed Lee Sin or Udyr or hell, even Kha'Zix in your jungle until you can manage to catch up in items. (Sejuani will usually annihilate Kha'Zix on even terms)

It's not so much a problem with the champions as it is with.. other champions and how Riot's handling them. The old strategy of "hunt down and murder the enemy jungler" is kinda being phased out with "take a camp or two and then gtfo" and... well, after level 4, a lot of tanks will usually try to gank harder. That said, these guys also get DESTROYED by strong counter-gankers; so if you're okay with spending a lot of money on wards and following them around in case you can force an early skirmish, they don't really have the power built up that soon to take enemies on in a fair fight.

But please, Riot, don't nerf my tanks. They're by far my most favorite role, and if they aren't allowed to be the unkillable gods they once were, then they need to compensate heavily for it in other areas.

Yeah I can see where you come from, I just think that all around everything needs worked on not just tanks. For the time being though games are becoming kinda boring.
