Is there anything I can do to stop the onslaught of false reports?

I recently got banned from ranked and a chat restriction for 30 games because whenever I died in a ranked game someone would say to report me for intentionally feeding.

I replied with: "I hope you realize false reports aren't going to do anything so go ahead."

then they say "LOL NOW I'M REPORTING YOU FOR VERBAL."

Turns out, false reports actually do something over time. Riot trolled me hardcore.

I really don't see a clear way to stop this from happening. I just got the notification in a normal game that I was reported for verbal abuse when all I said in the chat was "I'm mid."

Is there any way to save myself from this?

I shouldn't be afraid to chat and risk getting myself banned. This game is really hostile with its banning system.

I reported every single one of those that were toxic to me and said to report me, and I doubt anything happened to them.

Most cases these days are looked over by people and not just machines these days. You probably did do something wrong.

My friend got chat restricted for 30 games. And he played one match, while unable to talk. Got reported. Was chat restricted for another 30 games. He played another match. Reported for verbal abuse, while unable to speak. Banned from ranked.

The unfortunate thing is, Riot isn't up for the idea of people getting a clean slate. Once you're punished once, you're marked. For life. Best option is to make a new account or just give up on league altogether.

I get reported a lot, but I think because I'm witty about my banter I've not gotten punished yet. But as soon as it happens, I'm going to burn my credentials and move overseas. I mean, not play league anymore.
