Hello for the sake of this topic lets leave rank or elo out of this. Is OP champs a thing or just an excuse that people use when they dont want to be blamed on their play? It is an on going constant war with me and my friends and im looking for some insight so plz be clear with your posts. Thank you.

P.S. if you do think some champs are op plz list them and why they are op.

80% of "op" champions are not OP. An example of an OP champion would be release kassidin or release talon, however those were fixed quite quickly and did not have a TON of impact. Currently, no champions right now are OP, however many are very advantagous when used in the right situation. For example Yasuo might be considered OP by lower ELO's because that's where he thrives, as did Riven before some tweaks. In the adc meta, Rammus now shines, although he didn't before. Nothing was changed about Rammus, but the meta shifted to fit his niche perfectly.

Every champion has one (or two) jobs that they do perfectly. When the meta shifts to reflect that, they become "OP", when they have not changed and are not really. The reason a champion would be OP if it performed near perfectly in every meta.

If the champion beat somebody in a previous game, then someone probably considers them OP.

usually anyone who can build rageblade is op, sated is op, people like jax and kayle can be stupid broken if they snowball

It depends what you define as "OP", it may be OP as in "X champion is outright too strong to fight under normal conditions and has no weaknesses" or OP as in "the champ has clear weaknesses but his playstyle and skills allow to cover them with ease". Both are correct.

It depends on how you classify the term OP.

Like, for me, I think any champ who can just simply click on you and instantly delete you with no effort, aiming, thought or skill at all is "OP," like Jax, Xin, Yi, ADCs in general, Shyvana, Diana, etc. Most people don't agree with me, and call that balance, but I just think it's absolutely absurd that effort/reward isn't considered in the slightest when Riot makes balance decisions.

Likewise, I also feel that tanks who do just as much/more damage than a carry are broken as well, but that's "balanced" for most people too.

So it really just depends on how you look at the term OP.

The ONLY thing that is OP in League is teamwork. There are too many players who think League is a single player game and get butthurt when they get outplayed by better players or like I said, a team that works together in a team based game. Some champs are stronger than other but even the 5 "weakest" champions can beat the 5 "strongest" champions through great teamwork. You can argue about it all you want but with all the combinations you can have in league, I am sure there is a way to win each and every one of them. This is playing the game the way it was intended. Too many players don't then whine and bitch.
