Dear Riot, Parental Controls?

Dear Riot,

Is there a feature that I just can't seem to find that would allow me to let my kids create their own accounts in order to play your game? Now, I could realistically just lie about their ages, but I would rather not. I would like them to legally and legitimately have an account of their own.

So my question is:

Do you have some kind of system that would allow me to approve of my child having an account? Some video game companies have this exception where if a child is under the ESRB rating age, a child's account can be linked to a parents' account. I just recently had to do this for my children and I, so that we could play Pokemon Go! or Overwatch together. Not saying you need to be like those companies, you do you and all, but could you point me in the right direction if you have this system? If you do not, do you have any desire to implement something like this or have you ever discussed it as a company? I know most people may disapprove because of the mentality that having children on their team will ruin their experience because of immaturity, however, the reality is I'm not sure said hypothetical occurrences will increase to any number greater than already exists. Speaking purely from experience, kids will be kids, actually, let me rephrase, humans will be humans, and if they want something bad enough they will find a way around the systems and laws, as I'm sure already happens with this game and every other game that puts any sort of age restriction on it.

My wife and I play this game as a way to spend time together, and my kids are soon getting to the ages where I feel they might enjoy this game as well, and not just enjoy it, but play it competently and respectably. Also, I personally feel it would be a fun way to not only spend time with them, but in my opinion, another way to use normal everyday life experiences and activities to implement teaching them concepts of courtesy, teamwork, and the like.

Any direction, thoughts, reasonings for, or against, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Well this game doesnt have any sort of like "Family" type account. If anything just make the account for your children. and all play together. Im not too sure if you put a lower age that it would lock you out, or be unable to make an account. But if worse comes to worse just lie. If you guys really want to play that badly that seems to be the only way.

I'm pretty sure Riot doesn't care if you're under 13 or not. Otherwise they'd ask for your social security or some shit to make sure you're over 13.

man are you sure you want your kids expose to the community on league?

just create the accounts , you as the creator are the account holder you are just letting the kids play on it. but shhh that is account sharing lol

maybe if you do co op and custom games it would be ok with the kids but i dont know about pvp with the community.

just a thought

Children shouldn't be playing this game, period. I say this for a multitude of reasons---some are selfish and others a bit more altruistic.

Exposing children to this community is a questionable parenting decision at best. I know I wouldn't let my child anywhere near a computer without TOTAL supervision---meaning I'm watching their every move while online. Parental controls, while useful to some extent, are pretty easily circumvented usually and would just add a layer of headaches to the meager Player Support that Riot has now.

I don't know, maybe I'm just too old fashioned because I'm also the kind of person that would NOT let my kid have a smart phone either. Can't be too careful.
