Opinion on LE skin releases. X-posted to old forums.

First to get this out of the way: I am not a LE skin owner. The only one I own is Champ Riven and I bought that because it is her best skin imo not because it was limited.

However, I do know people that have bought a significant number of LE skins under the assumption that LE skins would not be released again. It is completely unethical to betray those original purchasers after repeated statements that they would never be released again. Normally it would be illegal to do so. However, Riot's oppressive TOS destroys practically any and all consumer rights held by the players (this coming from the "most player-focused gaming company"). The fact of the matter is that any action that is only legal by extensive abuse of consumer's rights has some sort of unethical dimension.

Do I want Limited Edition skins? Hell yes, I want Striker Ez, I want Definitely Not Blitzcrank, and I'm sure I can find others. Will I buy these skins? No, I will not buy these skins because they should never be released. I will still play this game and as far as Riot's concerned even if I didn't it wouldn't mean much. One out of millions doesn't hurt their bottom line. But this company that I used to respect as incredibly interactive with the players, and indeed player-focused will have lost all of my respect with this one action. If there's something I can't stand, it's unethical behavior from a corporate entity.

I do think Riot can be fair with compensation on this. Keep the skins limited but still re-release them. Just take a page from CCG's.

I jotted down some of my ideas here, and I am looking for more input:

Full disclosure, I own Silent Night Sona.
