You're the constant in your games.
Maybe you're bad at warding and die to ganks that you should be surviving.
Maybe you're bad at going in when your jungler ganks, and thus either can't secure the kill or even let your Lane opponent kill your jungler in a 1v1 when he was expecting a 2v1 where your Lane opponent would have died instead.
The number of times I have lost double buffs during a failed gank because of the laner not joining the fight (or at least not joining it soon enough) is about 5-6. That's 5-6 too many times. When you ask for a gank, or when I ping a target or "on my way" you should be ready to engage. Then without fail it's always the junglers fault for giving up buffs and a kill to the lane opp. - Yes, sorry I assumed you were competent.
Rant aside: either it's a stretch of bad luck that will pass, or you're playing something wrong. Maybe your champion isn't good at receiving ganks. Maybe you over extend. For example, when I play caitlyn adc I prefer to not receive a gank the whole game. I keep traps up and deep wards to escape ganks and keep my enemy pushed under tower to make them miss cs. When the jungler comes bot he's wasting his time because if I start backing off they'll know a gank is coming and not extend. In contrast, when I play ahri mid I play cat and mouse with my Lane opponent - mostly passive and try to harass with q. I throw in charm when I can afford to, both in hopes of getting off a good combo and also so it's not a dead give away when I'm receiving a gank. Once the lane is a little pushed towards me and the jungler is near, I flash-charm or ult-charm to initiate a gank for my jungler if they can't initiate, and if they can initiate I follow up with charm while my Lane opponent is CC'd to ensure a kill. Clearly I benefit much more from ganks in my ahri playstyle than I do in my caitlyn playstyle. So what I'm saying is, maybe you play like I play caitlyn, when you should play like I play ahri?
Just food for thought, hope it helps.
