Why can't I play?

So I just got stationed in Korea about a month ago. I already know I can't play on the Korean servers since I don't have a Korean SSN(?). I would like to know why we can't play on there servers? I am basically going to have to go an entire year without playing because of this rule. I know it's not a big deal, but in my off time I would love to play some games. Is there anyway to get around this? Can a Riot employee maybe help so us military stationed here are allowed to play? Thank you.

It's not Riot's policy it's South Korean law.

They say in that thread to try Oceania or China servers. Also good looking out being in the military, was in the Navy myself.

For sure, you too bro. I would see what the ping is like on Oceania just because the language barrier would be a problem for me... not just in-game chat and pre-game calls but the announcer, etc.

Yeah Aus and New Zealand. I've been to Darwin and Townsville, Aussie women are f'ing hot, and absinthe kicks ass.

Because the east asian riot servers are run by a company called Garena. What happens over there is out of Riot's control. I'd suggest trying to see if some of the other servers work better.

I was thinking of switching to the RU servers since it's the closest that I can switch too.
