Lucian players and wasting mana.

Is there some unwritten rule I'm unfamiliar with where if you play Lucian it states that you must use every ability possible and waste your mana as quickly as possible during the laning phase? Without exaggeration, EVERY single Lucian I've ever support has used every ability on even single minions. I've seen multiple different Lucian's use his Q on single castor minions (you know, the ones worth 18 gold). I understand that his passive grants you two auto attacks quickly after an ability, but it really isn't worth it.

Most of the time this happens, is early game, when the minions are fighting each other and there's no real pressure at all. What am I missing about Lucian?!

It's worse with Ezreal and Varus players

Yeah I see Varus players with that trend too. Ezreal a bit, but not as often. Some Varus' can conserve mana appropriately, but I crap you not it's EVERY Lucian I come across.

Typically you only use your Q in the laneing phase to harass as well as wave clear. If they weren't getting any harass in with those Qs then you just got matched with a very bad Lucian player.

That's the thing though, it's every Lucian player I've ever seen. It's so weird.

This problem will happen with any inexperienced, noob, or rusty adc players.

Come to think of it we generally lose when our team has a Lucian adc. Maybe it's just a weird coincidence that they're all crappy.

I used to think that having Lucian on my team was a bad omen. Then I got to play him myself and I found that I really enjoyed playing him and that I can play him adequately.

If you're talking about Level 1, the odds are he's going for le famous lucian level 2 powerspike. Other than that I can't imagine why someone would try their hardest to run out of mana.

Yes and no. I'm talking level 1 through 6. I can kind of understand going ham level 1 to snag level 2 quickly and initiate, but they all just use as much mana as possible at any level.

For example, we're level 5, we both back, got back to lane, no enemies in site, minions are pushed to our side but not in range of our turret yet, and Lucian dashes in, auto auto, q's down the middle so he doesn't even hit 30% of them, auto auto, then his star ability which really doesnt do any damage, auto auto. (keep in mind most of them miss a lot of cs cause they're more concentrated on getting as many autos off as possible and less so on timing said autos). It's fucked. lol. I can't wrap my head around it.
