suggestion: "renting" champions
When I saw the "refund" option for the first time, I had a thought. I realized you should only get 3 a lifetime so you don't buy a champion and return them right away.
However, then I wondered, what about "renting" champions. Who knows when a champion I am curious about will be part of the champion rotation? What if I want to try someone out before taking the plunge?
My thought is you rent a champion for 10 uses. This allows you to try them out in a couple of different game modes to really understand, "I love/hate this champion". For example, I like tanks and was REALLY curious about Zak. But I don't want to save up that much IP/RP for a character that really doesn't fit my style. Yeah I have a refund, but only 3.
I was thinking of introducing a third type of currency: lease points (LP). You can buy LP with both IP and RP. 1 IP = 6 LP and 1 RP = 15 LP.
So let's say I want to rent Zak. He costs 6300 LP. As such, it costs me 1050 IP. I play him twice and realize, "WOW, not what I thought. No thank you." I 'return' him but at a fraction of what I paid for. I used him twice which would be 210 IP (1260 LP). I still have 5040 worth of LP of use. I return Zak, but not for full price (like a refund would do), but for a fraction (half). In the case of half, I return him for 2520 LP. As such, in a sense, I spent 3780 LP (630 IP or 252 RP or ~$2). Basically, you pay $1 per use, but now you know.
Just a thought.
