Project Aria
Greetings All! You may have seen this post many times before on these boards, but I am not going to give up. This community is full of wonderful, creative, minds that create wonderful champion concepts. Sadly, these concepts never see the light of day. So, I want to tell you about a project I have been working on for about a year and a half, and I will not stop until it is successful.
So what is Aria? Aria is a fan-made MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena), an online game of competitiveness, skill, and strategy. Aria, however, is NOT a real game, and is not downloadable and playable. Though this is the case, Aria will be treated as if it were a real MOBA, and should be viewed as such. The purpose of Aria is to unify MOBA fans in a similar, yet noncompetitively positive environment, due to the generally negative, competitive atmosphere of most other MOBAs.
If you look at the (crappy) website (which I maded heheh), you can see that I copied and pasted the previous paragraph. I think this paragraph is the perfect description of Aria. But even though it isn't a real game, if it gains enough support, it could be one!
And that is why I need your help. I think this could be something great, and since it is a MOBA like League of Legends, I think that all of yuou can relate to the content of this Project. There is only one thing I'm really asking help for: the "Destined". The "Destined" are the "Champions" of Aria, and I believe that the characters are the central part of any MOBA. If you continue reading, I will post more information about Aria, and after that, contact information if you want to help out! I look forward to seeing what you have to say. :D
PLOT The World is ruled by the benevolent goddess, Aria, with along with her devoted prophets. A scientist has accidentally opened a portal into the Netherworld, the land of the dead, which Aria sealed of an eternity ago. To fight off the army of the dead, Aria has chosen selected individuals, the Destined, to help fight off the evil army that now wishes to take over their world again
THE GAME Aria includes two game modes: Classic: This game mode is the common 5v5 game mode and is played on the "training grounds", where the Destined of Aria train to fight off the dead from the Netherworld. Though the map hasn't been completely created yet, it will contain a jungle, two or three lanes, turrets, and the Flag you will capture to win the game. And of course there will be an objective similar to Baron Nashor. :) Defense: This game mode takes you and a team of other players to a location of your choice in the World of Aria, where you will defend an artifact from the dead. This game made is more synonymous with MMOs, but on a much smaller scale, since it will have you completing objectives and will involve teamwork. This game mode is meant to be challenging and cannot be "practiced". Successfully defeating the dead in Defense will yeild much larger rewards than that of Classic, such as the ownership of the Destined you were playing as.
Aria pretty much has the same ability structure as your average MOBA: a Passive ability (known as a "Static" ability in Aria), 3 basic abilities, and an Ultimate ability.
Aria has 5 major roles: Assassin, Carry, Guardian, Mage, and Warrior. Assassins are like they are in League of Legends, they deal a lot of damage to single targets and have a lot of mobility. Hopefully, they will be a lot more balanced in Aria than they are in League of Legends. Then we have carries, the ADCs of Aria who will carry their team to victory. Guardians are the tanks of games, whether they be the disruptive initiating tanks like Amumu or the Protective Support ones like Braum. Then we have the Mages, the long range, immobile utility-based Destined, who will rage from the bursty ones like Annie and the supporty ones like Soraka. And Finally, we have Warriors, who don't excel at one thing, but can do pretty much everything averagely.
Most of Aria's customization will be in-game. So, there will be nothing like Runes and Masteries, which I feel are completely pointless haha. Even if they are something extra to do, I think it would be easier if everything was in-game, kind of like in Smite. Of course there will be skins (except they will be more then just re-colors) and dances!
SOME DESINTED Now, I will show off some destined with basic information:
ASSASSINS:::
- Reeve - The Night Prowler Reeve is a Spirit only known of in legends who protects his beautiful forest from outsiders with his deadly mobility and claws. He has quite an amount of mobility for an Assassin, and is mainly Auto-attack based.
- Sinna - The Lotus {rincess Sacrificed to appease the mountain Spirits, they showed mercy, and she was resurrected as a beautiful lotus princess. Though she doesn't have high mobility, her magic damage is very high and can burst down her opponents with ease.
CARRIES:::
- Isabella - The Arrow of Nobility Isabella is a sassy, arrogant, girly archer, the daughter of one of the richest aristocrats in the world. Weidling her pink bow and shooting pink arrows, she can deal a lot of damage, though she also has considerable crowd control for a Carry.
- Matthew - The Demonslinger Matthew is your typical, wild-west gunslinger guy - except that he wields two demon pistols! Unlike most carries, he is quite mage-like and can deal AOE magic damage, while also being capable of the high damage that your average ADC can pull off.
GUARDIANS:::
- Ollpheist - The Ancient Monstrosity Ollpheist is an ancient monster accidentally awakened when explorers found a long lost ruins. Wielding a big club and with his grotesque image, he rampages through the battlefield with high crowd control. Though he isn't as beefy as other Guardians, his high crowd control makes up for that.
MAGES:::
- Zhu Di - Lady of the Beads Zhu Di was a princess banished for use of a forbidden magic in which she weilds rosary beads, artifacts most holy. Her burst damage and crowd control is force to be reckoned with, but she can also protect allies - all with the beads.
WARRIORS:::
- Lupin - The Outcast Born into a rich family, Lupin was considered a disappointment to his family, unlike his successful older brother, and left them to become a warrior. Weilding red lance, he fights with a lot of sustain and crowd control, all with nimble mobility and grace.
HELP? So how can you help? By sending an email to this address. :D
