What would be the purpose of a smurf account?

My main account has been suspended, so I have a second one. What would be the point in having it after my ban is lifted?

Well, if you have a significant difference in ELO, you could possibly duo with lower ranked friends :)

I have one to play with my fiance and a couple of friends who are more casual players. Not that I'm amazing or anything, highest I've ever been ranked was silver 1.

From what I've seen, smurf accounts are either people like you trying to keep playing while their main account is suspended, gigantic assholes who get a kick out of trashing people of lower skill levels than them because winning video games is the only thing in their life that makes them feel valid and useful, or high level players who want to play matches without waiting 45 minutes for a queue to hit.

I use it to play with my friends who aren't quite level 30 yet so that it doesn't inflate the elo so much that they can't learn.
