AFK in Ranked

Hi. Now that Riot has implemented very strict punishments for players going AFK, I have seen more people than ever intentionally go AFK. These people will declare their intent to leave the game, and then sit in the fountain for the rest of the game. In some cases they will disconnect. In many cases they will stay in the fountain.

I do not know the cause of this. But I suspect I am not alone in noticing the trend. Some people say it is because the season is over. However, I question why anybody would queue for ranked if they were not planning to win, whether the season is in or not.

Perhaps these are all people who paid to have their accounts boosted. Now they have their border and skin and they know they will lose their rank anyways. I do not know.

All I know is there is an epidemic of intentional AFK now. Seems to be in at least 1 of every 4 games.
