What internet provider are you affiliated with?
I'm just wondering, because right now I have AT&T U Verse, on their 18mbps plan, and have honestly never gotten anywhere near that. The highest I've ever gotten was around 10 (this usually only lasts for about an hour, and that's being generous), which is still ridiculous with what I'm paying for. For about 80-90% of the day I average between 0.9 (yes that is correct) to around 2-3.5 throughout most of the day. And before you say call them and tell them to fix it, I have, about 10 times, and literally all they do is replace the modem (even when I insist there's not a problem with the modem, it's legitimately just a problem with their service). To which they respond with "they're the experts" and obviously know what would be causing the problem. Well obviously not. Also, if you're wondering, I live in Milwaukee, WI, so it's not like my connection would be horrible from living out in the middle of nowhere, so I really don't get what the problem is. I've tried turning off the wifi on my phone, ipod, and whatever else that could possibly lower the overall connection, still nothing changes.
A few of my friends have the same provider and have some of the same issues but not quite as bad, so they don't really complain about it.
"Why don't you just change providers" With my research into the competitors, I surprisingly don't really have much better options. Anyone that lives in Wisconsin have better luck with uverse? Know any better providers? Any tips on how I could attempt to possibly fix it myself?
I would just plug right into the modem, but with how it's set up in my house I can't exactly do that comfortably.
As you can see this would be the reason I can't really play league as much as I'd like, with how unpredictable my internet is. Luckily I'll be heading back to college soon and getting an average of 70-90 mbps, thank god.
Sorry for the rant, but this has legitimately been pissing me off recently.
Anyone else have similar issues if uverse or any other provider?
