Unfair/ Unbalanced Normal Queue Games Have to Stop

Below is a quote from a post I posted 15 days ago. It hasn't gotten any attention and I don't understand why. I can not be the only person that this is happening too. Please help me get this issue noticed by Riot as it is really driving me away from the game. As added evidence I have included screenshots from one of my recent games. Please notice this is just one of the MANY games this has occurred in. I am a casual player, Member of USAF that does not have the time nor the interest in playing ranked. All I ask is that the games I play at least be somewhat balanced. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I end up on the team with the 3 Diamond players, but even then I complain about how unfair the matchmaking is. And once again it isn't fun being carried by 3 people on your team. It's like having a 5v5 basketball game. One team has 4 average Joes with one NBA player. While the other team has 3-4 NBA players and 1 average Joe. How would there be any competition in this game, how would it be any fun, and who would even want to seriously watch it. http://imgur.com/vW79Xsy http://imgur.com/1fYyFA1

Why is it that 90% of the games I play my team either has 1-2 gold people and the rest are silver/ bronze and we go against plat and gold enemies. Or more often my team is all silver with an unranked or bronze and the enemy has golds and plats with one silver. If this is caused by the group matchmaking thing maybe it would be better to make groups matchmake with with highest mmr players mmr. Its really not fun that almost every game I play there is 2-3 people on the other team that goes 20/4. Clearly outplaying everyone on my team.

Normal and Ranked mmr are completely separate. So if you get someone who doesn't play ranked much past placements, they may be B5 in ranked, but regularly play at a much higher level in normals. Conversely, a highly ranked player who only plays occassional normals can be placed with low-level normals due to a lack of advancement in the format.

And then you have the friends issue. Ranked restricts how far apart a duo can be and still play with each other. Normals don't, and so that can throw the matchmaking off kilter.

Also, as far as I know, playing in a premade raises the estimated skill level for the group because the system assumes better communication (and therefore more coordinated play) than it does for solo players.

Like I said, the mmr of those gold/plat players might be crap in normals due to low play time.

Try this: Next time you jump in queue, ignore the borders during the loading screen. If you're psyching yourself out over the shiny borders and convincing yourself you don't have a chance, you won't play as well as if you go in and just play.

You're playing normals to have fun, right? Their rank only affects your fun if you let it.

I will never understand why normal MMR isn't based (at least in part) on ranked MMR. If someone binges ranked games for a season and goes up two entire Tiers, they will still be put against people of their original rating in normals and stomp.

This is too true. It happens to me as well. When i play this game at certain times during the day I get teams like this. Honestly wouldnt be half as bad if my teams would just ff to the OBVIOUS superior team. Thats beside the point. RIOT FIX THIS!!!! Idc if it takes me 5mins to get a game i want to play people at my level against people at my level.

Seriously, I cant even consider this a game anymore. Three games in a row my team goes 7 or less kills to 25+ deaths. This program has become much more like a downer drug. Something to get on if i need to have my day ruined. Wonder how much my accounts worth.

Also an option to be able to not be put on a team with a premade group would help a lot.

Hey guys i have the same fkn problem also!!!! For months iw been playing like this and u know what, it drives me MAD!!! Im a silver 1 div guy but i play too much normals cuz they are relaxing. The problem appeared when the matchmaking started to put me vs Diamonds and Platinums altho im SILVER 1 AND EVEN MY MMR IS LOWER THAN THEIRS!!!! EVERY FKN GAME I PLAY LIKE THAT, and ofc i get STOMPED. Its not even worth playing vs them, i go eather afk or smtn.. cuz i lost like 100 games like this. No matter how hard i try to win i end up being overwhelmed by those stronger and more expereanced players. This is truly cancer.. I play rankeds now to avoid being stomped.

What is that program?

Ranked and Normal queues have completely separate MMR.

Looking at someone's rank does not necessarily tell you a whole lot about how they play in Normals. Almost everyone "tryhards" much less in Normal matches. And unless you dig into their Ranked stats in detail you have no idea if they're playing the same roles and/or champs and/or builds they normally use in Ranked play.

Granted, if a strong player usually slacks off in Normals and then decides to go all-out for a few matches, it's going to wreak havoc with the matchmaker. But that's an issue with any sort of inconsistent players.

The problem is not with the normal mmr and ranked mmr being different things. The problem is that when people play with 2,3,4 friends the matchmaker pairs that team against players that have the lower players normal mmr. So when a bronze/silver/unranked player plays with his 2 diamond friends they get matched against silver and bronze opponents. I just think the system should rather match with the higher players normal mmr. Or do a better job at averaging it out.
