It's not about winning. It's about sending a message :)
Put yourself in your opponents shoes..
Game starts and your jungler is AFK. Minutes pass, and you realize he's going to be behind when he reconnects. 5 minutes pass, and you're just wishing he comes back..
but he doesn't..
After 15 minutes you know for sure this will be a 4v5 game.
Your mid laner is doing good, covering the whole map, helping out bot. And your top laner is playing safe and farming under the tower.
You group up sooner as usual and take objectives. 20 minutes pass and the thought of surrendering doesn't even cross your mind.
The enemy team is good, but not focused. And you know you can win this.
The game drags out, and eventually you start to feel the the 5th person missing. It's getting harder, you start loosing teamfights, and not because of bad plays, but simply because of the power difference..
The enemy team enters your base. They take your inhibitors. They take the nexus towers.
And then..
They surrender.
Congratulating you for being a better team, and saying you deserve the win.
Guys,
This happened to me a few years back, and when i saw that surrender, it made me a happy person..
Since then whenever i encounter a similar situation with me being in the 5 man team, i suggest to my teammates that the enemy team deserves the win. And most of the times we surrender leaving the enemy team baffled.
Be that guy..
It's not about winning.
It's about sending a message :)
