This Ranking System Is Really Trash...

I duo with my friend almost all the time. We have some good games, then comes the post-game screen. We gain 16LP. Fucking 16LP. We get pretty pissy about it but we shake it off and play another game. This game goes horribly, me and my friend were the only ones who won lane. Even the jungle failed. I'm afraid to even look at the post-game screen now because of the LP probably lost. We lost 22LP. At this point i'm just flipping shit.

How does Riot even expect people to go anywhere but down. We win 2 games, lose 1, and we nearly have the same amount of LP we started with. Maybe someone can explain this to me, because I simply don't understand.

You gain more LP when you win games against better opponents and lose more when you lose games that you should've won. On average you'll win/lose around 50% of your games and even if you lose more than 50% you can still climb up.
