Do low ranks not know MR exists?

Because it sure seems that way. I just had a match where the enemy team was Teemo, Lee Sin, Fizz, Lucian, and Morgana. 3/5 are AP. Fizz finished 14/4/3 and Teemo was the most farmed champ in the match with 177 CS. In spite of this, it took 23 minutes for anyone besides me to buy MR. And that was with me trying to hammer home that they needed some in chat.

I've had other matches where people stick to buying armor even when there are no AD threats on the other team. It tilts me more than someone being toxic, to be honest. I can mute them and, as long as nobody else feeds the troll and said troll doesn't hamper us too much, we can still win. But when your team has no idea how to itemize for your opponents, you're gonna have a bad time.

One thing I noticed super clearly from smurfing in silver from plat, was that people in low elo often build the same stuff like every game regardless of the situations. They just see it as "these items are good on this champion!" They will never itemize based on team comp or enemy team.

Same reason you will see people continue to build damage when they are already behind or building more AD and AS into a thronmail or frozen heart, they also seem to hate building pen lol.

I agree. I have seen many ADCs who did not, say, build Mercurial Scimitar, or at the very least, a QSS early when faced with champions who have the ability to CC-chain. Being caught out is a thing, but with it, at the very least you can remove a debuff and flash (if you time it proper.) And at the very least, the MR on it would help reduce SOME of the damage (very small amount, but it might make a difference)

Not to mention. Getting a goddamned Quicksilver Sash will remove the fish.
