TL;DR: Increased ping due to the server move isn't the worst thing. You'll adapt.

I would like to say that for all of you bitching about your ping increasing now, I sympathize. If it's going to become 160+, that really is a disappointing circumstance. If it's anywhere at or below 150 but still higher than you're used too... Well, you'll adapt. Once you get accustomed to the slight delay, your games won't suffer as much as you think they will (though you'll conveniently have something to blame now).

This isn't a "now you know how east coasters feel" spiel, it's just reassurance. Most games you play require you to get the timing right, and it's big part of League too. If someone fucks with the timing values that your muscle memory is accustomed to, you'll have to re-adapt.

I recognize that there are some real casualties here. I don't think there are as many as people complaining there are, though. It does appear that many who are threatening to or actually quitting over this are pretty shitty members anyway, the toxicity the better I suppose but I don't think they should be flushed out with high pings. I'm grateful Riot is at least attempting to improve the server situation; something I've complained about for over a year considering their profits and just how many people on the NA server are affected by the west coast server location.

I will say I'm grateful for starting with a higher pings and moving to lower, compared to starting off pampered with low ping and being forced to go higher. But again, for most of you, it's a slight change. Most of you have played games during server issues when ping was 200-300+ and still did relatively well despite the hindrance. You adapted to the situation under grueling circumstances and, though frustrated, were fine. Not to say that you should just accept these circumstances without complaining or with misplaced gratitude or without trying to find a solution to get your low ping back, but if you can't.. You'll be okay.

You kiddos complaining about 60-120 ms latency cracks me up. I remember playing Counter-Strike on dialup with 300-500ms ping and doing just fine. Suck it up.
