how to transition from bots to pvp

I am a Dad playing with my 8yo son. Over the last year he's progressed from walking into turrets and struggling against intro bots to finding it simple to beat any bot. I've enjoyed playing LoL with my son and would like to continue to do so, but the fun isn't the same as it was before because bots are too easy and people are too hard.

We're at a cross roads I need the community's help with. How do we get into PvP or find "expert bots"?

Let me paint a picture of where we're at. A few days ago my son played without me against the hardest bots available and carried his team to victory. I'm not claiming we're actually **good ** at LoL, but if you play hundreds of games over a year and are at the point you can be #1 on your team with a 25/3/1 ratio as Volibear against the hardest bots available you've reached a point where understand the fundamentals of the game and are ready for the next lesson.

Right? Well we've been getting our butts kick in Blind pick and just can't get break in.

He had a bit of IP saved up so bought a couple cheap champions so we could get into PvP draft today. He went 0/17/3! This isn't the first time we did PvP, merely the first of draft version. It was often the same story in Blind pick, I was hoping draft would result in somehow finding a better skill match for us. 0/17/3 was bad enough our teammates said they were going to report him in chat. He is old enough he can mostly read and gets this. This is not fun to be told you're so terrible you are going to be reported for doing the best you can. That you should be banned from the game. This is really hard on a child who would come home from school with drawings of awesome LoL characters.

For contrast the last game we played together vs. AI together I helped him read comments from other players. Watching your child sound out sound out praise from your allies that we were "awesome" and "#rect the bottom lane" is a lot of fun for him. You'll never find a more encouraging way to get your child to want to sound out words to learn to read.

So how do we find a middle ground? How can there be nothing between 25/3/1 and finishing off the nexus in under 17 minutes to going 0/17/3 and making the game suck for the either eight players? How did others go from learning the game against bots to being able to enter PvP and not completely feed?

I'd say find a group of people... But with an 8 year old that would be hard :(.

I appreciate the bond you have with your son. Unfortunately, there really is nothing to do. What level are you? If you are level 30, you are fighting with people who are level 30 and have had experience playing with other people. You had your chance to progress gradually, but decided to battle bots until you hit a ridiculous point to play with other people. Sorry.
