easiest champion for a 7yo to have fun against bots with

I have a variation on the "easiest champion" thread. After I was watching some DotA2 stuff my young son told me he'd like to try it. I think LoL will be slightly easier. I'm pretty sure either will be overwhelming, but if he'd like to try I'd like to let him. Even if it is just the two of us with three intermediate bots playing against five beginner bots.

Has anybody else been in a similar situation helping a son/daughter/nephew/brother that was too young to read play? Which champion did you recommend for them and would you try the same this time?

Which champion did you use yourself? I'd like to do a lot work keeping him alive and setting him up so he can get kills and feel like he's doing awesome.

Again, it's not to play in a PvP arena, this is just for father and son to play a game he'd like to try and for him to hopefully have fun feeling like a great warrior.

Typically the cheaper the champ is the easier they are to play, so try letting him use champions like Yi or Ashe that have fewer abilities you have to press during combat.

That definitely your sons type of champion.

Tank/Bruiser-Darius, malphite, pantheon, jarvan 4 and gnar would most likely be the safest

Mage/assassain- Ryze, Land Lissandra would most likely be your safest

Marksmen- Ezreal, Lucian, Kallista (if you want to be his soul bound partner, if not then dont worry about her) and tristana would be the best bet.

Of all the champs I listed they either scalre fairly decently allowing you to pick up defense but still do damange, or they have CC/Ezcapes built into their kits.

The chamnpions they listed are way easier than mine, but maybe you can save these for an intermediate list for him?

Garen Chogath Lux Pantheon

These champions have their own types of complexity to them, but for the most part as long as you click the button on an enemy they will do something. Garen and Pantheon just naturally do a lot of damage at lower levels for how easy their kit is, Cho'gath is really simple as long as you hit the abilities, Lux is probably the most complex out of the 4 but not hard and she is really fun with her ultimate.

You could try Nasus for him. He even follows the whole "The mightiest warrior starts small" idea. It will also teach him how to CS well. Give him Nasus, explain the concept of cooldowns, and tell him "When you see one of these things with low life, press Q, and then attack it." Then explain that every Q he gets a kill with makes it stronger.

Consider getting Heroes of the Storm for him when it goes live (assuming you don't get a beta key). It's really noob friendly; you don't have to last hit for experience, you just have to be close. There are no items or gold. The team gains XP rather than individuals. There are no runes, masteries, or summoner spells.

I'd considering looking at champs with point and click skills...

Oh wait, riot is deleting those champs.

How about an AA based champ like teemo or one of the ADCs? Teemo seems kid friendly as long as you aren't playing against other people.

I wish I had a father like that :[

Well... In all honesty DrMundo is pretty awesome as you can build anything on him and still do something useful.

Garen is a mechanically unchallenging champion although to me he isn't the funniest guy around.

I can sense him feeling somewhat awesome with Katarina, taking in account its all point and click and looks flashy. However warn him to avoid cancelling Death Lotus himself :]

Nunu I love Nunu so much. Its just that walking animation, the simple abilities, the not overloaded kit, the different build options. I can't keep him out of this list.

Olaf Nothing beats throwing axes as Olaf. In my early levels all I could want was playing him. I realized he isn't the most viable champion all around, and will only buy him this week, probably, a long time afterwards, but I really doubt he isn't fun to play. Olaf mixes a little bit of aiming, a little bit of auto-attacking, some build diversity and plenty of meaningful choices about when to ult, while being relatively easy to grasp his mechanics.

Shaco Shaco's kit is a blast. He isn't easy to play (unless he goes AP, that way he is about as difficult as Cho'Gath, but not really anything compared to AD) but I guarantee its nice to play him even if you aren't very good at Shaco. I still recommend him if you run out of ideas about what champion to go for next.

Talon A very straightforward assassin. Talon isn't very simple, I'd say he is moderately difficult. But I am sure his kit is definitely fun to use and learn. Plus he is a very stylish and flashy assassin, a bit like Katarina, so I guess that he can be really enjoyable to play as.

Urgot Believe me or not, one of the least viable champions is actually a very fun one. Urgot is by no means, an easy champion. He is skill-shot reliant and heavily mana-hungry. However, his machine-gun-like Q is pretty neat to use, and he feels rewarding especially once you land an E.

Volibear The most difficult part about Voli is not messing up the fling, and not getting kited to death. Those aren't really big issues in bot matches, so I must say I recommend Volibear too. He was my first main and I have a blast with him. However, his long cooldowns might be a little unfun (compared to shorter ones) for your son, so you might want to go for someone else.

Honorable mention: Veigar The first champion I actually got decent with. I bought Veigar when I was a (bigger) noob and tried my best to master his E. He wasn't challenger material, but still quite a blast (literally). After this patch, his skill-cap increased quite a lot, and I don't have really much fun with him anymore, but I am sure he is still playable in bots.

Hope I helped!

You should first ask what kind of champion your son would like to play. Mage, ranger, warrior... Assassins might be a bit too risky and require good timing. Supports might feel a bit boring at first.

Mage: Annie Veigar Syndra Ranger: Caitlyn Ashe Tristana Warrior: Garen XinZhao Trundle

A good combo: Zilean + Caitlyn Zilean sets up kills and saves lives. Caitlyn is a safe champion and has fun gameplay elements.

I'd go with a basic melee who spams all the buttons. Udyr? Nothing remotely complicated about that champion. Olaf? Shyvana? (manaless is a plus). Mundo?

Udyr was who I learned with, and I decided early on to be a jungle main. If you can learn how to play the game with Udyr in the jungle, you can learn to play the game with Udyr anywhere.
