Jungling? Why is it hard now?

Maybe it's just my new curse currently, but I keep getting junglers who don't know how or when to gank? I'm a support main, but this new tank meta is so easy right now... You farm for a bit, then just gank gank gank. Anyone else having issues with Jungs who just farm now?

Well, are you pushing to turret? Because that makes it hard for us to gank.

Junglers farm because there's no real gain to ganking all the time. Say, I'm vi. Her best gank is her ulti to lock down after a q (provided ADC is in formation to follow up) and do some damage to anyone in the ensuing chaos. Then leave. While ults down, I can probablu gank mid if they have hard/reliable cc. But hey, that 175 gold I got from that assist. That's not doin much for me.

You have minions that literally walk to you and die. You get exp from just being there. We gotta go kill jungle creeps, ward dragon, secure dragon, cover lanes, covrt our own jungle, get vision crabs, counter jungle, counter gank (to keep their jungler off you) all while having to babysit the team and deal with their qq whie they flame you.

I vented a bit. I apologize. Junglers have more things to do than anyone else.

sometimes I play nunu in SoloQ just because lanes don't understand if your pushed I cant gank you.

so I just farm my jungle and theirs and get the level advantage/gold advantage until late game. (on a side note, the amount of vision you get from this strategy is insane.) farm to counterjungle sabre, then just like go ham. First 3 items are cinderhulk, mobi boots and a sightstone, with the pink trinket upgrade. as long as you smite and steal their wolves, you get free vision, keep up on scuttles, free vision, maximum sustain, so you never have to back except for big purchases. I'm guessing it works better on a team where communication is better, but holy crap the vision you give your team. ward their jg as you go through etc

so yeah in this situation, I may not gank, but you will have all the warning in the world of approaching jger, roaming laner.

but aside from strategies like that, yeah its annoying to see honestly bad jgers, especially being a jg main.

It's not that Jungling got harder--it's that people think it got easier, so people who don't understand how to manage their camps (because they didn't start early in the season) don't gank or do anything useful.

Fallacy of increasing ease at work.

This is coming from someone who hates to jungle now - not due to the current meta - but the fact that 1) people that don't play jungle think it is "so easy" right now, and 2) have no actual reference to how jungling works.

  • If you are pushed up in lane, you aren't getting a gank, unless you count the enemy. The jungler isn't going to tower dive for you just because you pinged 50 times and are insulting them (this happens more often than not I sadly find)

  • There are three lanes. The jungler can't be in all three at once.

  • The enemy can ward just as you can. Sometimes you just walk over a ward, it happens. In most cases, the enemy will back out of a good position for you to gank, and you have to move on.

  • The jungler is a member of the team as well, also needing gold and experience and items.

  • It is not up to the jungler to win your 1v1 or 2v2 lane when you can't. If you are losing in a straight up matchup in lane, it is not the junglers fault. They can help, and I would go as far as to they they should, but they aren't required to gank just because you can't hold your own.

  • No jungle route is perfect, and sometimes the same route may not work twice in the same game (not likely to be fair, but something to keep in mind).

  • If you aren't sweeping out wards around your lane, then your jungler will keep running through wards, so you gotta help them as much as they help you.

  • If you are refusing to leave lane to help the jungler, you can't expect them to give up on farm and experience to try and get you a kill. It works both ways.

As I said, I am by no means a jungler, but the "tank meta" isn't just "farm up and gank", and you have to set up ganks just as much as the jungler has to gank properly. It is a two way street and not just the junglers job to pull magical perfect ganks out of a terrible situation.
