Cancer. Cancer never changes.
The Noxians waged war to gather slaves and wealth. Ionia built an empire from its lust for gold and territory. Jarvan shaped a battered Demacia into an economic superpower.
But cancer never changes.
In the 21st century, cancer was still implemented over the games that could be acquired. Only this time, the spoils of cancer were also its weapons: Mobilitycreep and Damagecreep. For these games, China would invade Riot Games, the US would lose to Korea every LCS, and the European Servers would dissolve into quarreling, bickering cancer-states, bent on controlling the last remaining english server on Earth.
In 2009, the storm of world cancer had come again. In two brief Q's, most of the rift was reduced to tumors. And from the ashes of cancerous devastation, a new kind of players would struggle to arise.
A few were able to reach the relative safety of the large unfavored pool of Champions. Your friends and family could be part of that group that entered that pool. Imprisoned safely behind outdated mechanics, under a mountain of nerfs, a generation has lived without knowledge of the cancerous world.
Life in League is about to change.
