Is Maokai viable in season 5?

I need a tanky top laner. I know Garen is an option, but he's not really my style. I've been playing Maokai in Normals, but I've done really poorly. I'm considering Malphite. Any thoughts?

P.S. I need a tanky champ because a lot of top laners opt for high damage champions like Riven and Fiora.
