Today EA closed one of my favorite MOBA's, Dawngate. It was a well designed game albeit some issues, and a possible competitor to League given time. However, EA wasn't interested in giving it the time to grow and has cancel development. With the canceling of Dawngate also comes the dissolving of Waystone games, and reassignment. The folks over at Waystone are talented, hard working, passionate, and dedicated people. They know MOBA's and have the skills and knowledge to be successful given the opportunity. Riot, these developer deserve better then to end up doing soulless EA MEGACORP work and they would fit right in with the Riot crowd. If you have openings in any of positions, PLEASE reach out and grab the Waystone Games staff.

We like those guys a lot and respect their work - rest assured, we're always chatting with talented devs like them.

Thx for raising visibility guys!

I feel for the developers

Some big ass corporation comes in and shits all over everything you've worked hard for.

Fuck EA. Fuck em hard.

Riot could take a page from their books. Their lore and story-telling was incredible.

Yikes. That kinda sucks. I wasn't a fan of the gameplay, but I liked the way they did their Lore and struck out to be something different than "Generic DOTA/LoL Clone #2132".

And one of the heroes was a giant walking tombstone. That's pretty sweet.

Narrative sure could use their expertise - I really had been lookingforward for Dawngate polishing out some more of the gameplay-flaws so i could switch to the game that´s more interessted in developing a consistent Lore. Shame on you EA!

Really EA can sometimes be a really lazy company. I play FIFA a lot, but only because EA has a total monopoly since its main competitor (PES) is in a really bad state. Whenever they release a new FIFA, its's the same exact game, but with maybe one new feature and updated squads, which you need to pay $60 for. Why not just keep on playing the old FIFAs? Oh they just shut down the servers for it 2 years after it gets old so you need to buy the new game. Yeah, I don't like EA.

since you probably do not know the dawn gate devs, you really should not say anything about how great or bad they are.

anyone know if a kickstarter would help at all? theres been some discussion about it on Dawngate's reddit and such...i've also signed a petition (if i can find it i'll link it here) and i know how shitty EA can be..i try and not buy their games very often.

Just letting you guys know Dawngate lore team is spectacular and they would be a great asset in truly closing the League of Legends (seriously RETCON) plz let them be somewhat useful

Xeans11/6/2014, 2:09:00 PM3 votes

Please, please please please, hire their lore writing team.

I love Runeterra to death, but I feel like we've barely gotten the oppertunity to know it.

Why would riot sponser competition. O.o

Why is everyone saying fuck EA? The game has been in development for over 3 years now and its barely out of BETA.

With the rising popularity of Dota 2, SMITE going to consoles, and Blizzard already in BETA with their MOBA.....EA saw no profit in the game now that the market got saturated.

MastèrBaitèr11/5/2014, 10:19:30 PM1 votes

Whoa you mean being in beta for 4 years wasn't enough time to hammer something ok out? They didn't really distinguish themselves THAT much in what is a HUGE timeframe enough to pick up a good player base. The forums were dead, the game was similar, So EA pulled the plug
