It's not a popular opinion, but Riot thank you for your champion design on the past 10 champions

There's a great deal of hate out about the design changes riots has been taking, and while I too have a long list of things I would like to see changed or fixed, I think Riot has been making the right decisions and really trying for "easy to learn hard to master" champions. This is showcased strongly in the past 10+ champions.

Ekko Ashe Bard RekSai Kalista Sion Azir Gnar Braum Velkoz Yasuo Jinx Lucian

All of these champions represent how the gameplay has evolved from the early days of pre-season 1. Whether it's with skill shots, timing, battlefield management, each go far and beyond the call to create a really enjoyable experience. We're moving away from everything being determined purely by metagame mechanics like farming, jungle paths, and letting numbers be the only basis for success. Which is refreshing, as it gives new players something to work on and learn, and veterans an enjoyable edge when going into a match. League isn't perfect, but I felt like some thanks was in order. Thank You Riot for your continued efforts to make Leagues gameplay more exciting, fast paced, and truly skill based.

Ekko, is about as horrible a design as humanly possible. WAY overloaded. Needs COMPLETE rework. Ashe, love the rework, just needs a minor tweak and she is golden. Bard, was weak on release, but has a fun and balanced kit now. Rek'Sai, broken when released and still too OP now. Kalista, see Ekko above. Sion, great rework. Maybe does a bit too much damage for how tanky he is. Azir, has been broken since release. Either too OP or too UP. Way too many bugs in his play. Gnar, OP on release and still very strong now. Braum, OP on release, balanced now. Vel'Koz, great job. Best champion released in list. Yasou, horribly broken at release and still needs rework. Jinx, nice kit. Was a bit OP, but is in a pretty good spot now. Lucian, same as Jinx.

Well with the exception of Aatrox those are all the champs that have come out since I started playing, and I have to say I agree with you while people may not like the mobility creep and loaded kits of these champions, it does make for a more interesting game experience.

+1.

Sick and tired of those whiners spamming QQ threads whenever they got rekt by X champ.

I agree with 10/12th of your post. Ignoring Ekko for a moment (since I have only seen him in one game since his release due to his permanent ban status)...

The vast majority of those are well-designed champions. Some of them have been a bit underpowered or overpowered at times, but that's just a matter of numbers. The designs have proper strengths and weaknesses, and their play patterns have windows of vulnerability that opponents can exploit.

However, there are two champions on that list that are the absolute epitome of bad design, who outright contradict Riot's own Design Values. Kalista Yasuo Now, both have been nerfed into a state where they can be called "balanced", but in the same way that a coin toss is balanced. Both have extremely binary matchups, where they are either able make an enemy completely useless (Kalista vs certain melee champions, Yasuo vs projectile users, both to a lesser extent vs skillshot champions), or they themselves are made useless (Kalista vs champions with a longer range than her, or burst assassins, Yasuo vs champions with CC whose kits don't rely on projectiles.))
