Getting put in low priority and potentially getting banned for things that are out of my control?

I'm all for the new banning system that deals with leavers and people who are abusive. But today I had 2 instances where I had to afk that were out of my control and i'm getting put in low priority and am concerned if this will eventually result in me getting a ban. The first game I was playing for about 10 minutes and had a family member breakdown in tears and come to me for help, obviously I could tell them I was busy playing a game and to come back later, so i went afk for 5-10 minutes to console them. When i came back i had disconnected, apologized for it and continued playing. Secondly there were 2 people in our game that had a grudge against eachother and said they were going to troll and feed eachother. The other 3 of us (including myself) agreed to afk whilst the enemy pushed mid and finished the game as soon as possible. Why can't going afk be appealed. Can't always stay in the game if real life situations get in the way, that is, if they weren't planned prior to entering the game, or if your internet cuts out, computer blows up etc.

Actually the second one sounds like it was perfectly in your control. You choose to afk cause people were fighting instead of muting playing and reporting them at the end. Hell you 3 could of gathered in a side line and tried to base race. 98% sure it would of failed but you would not of been a AFk.

Riot knows that sometimes real life stuff happens and that you just have to leave the game because of it, that's why they programmed the Leaverbuster with some leniency, so that you can leave every once in a while if you ABSOLUTELY have to. You don't get punished for 1-2 leaves every once in a while. When you start making a habit of leaving/AFKing in multiple games within a short period of time, that's when it becomes a problem and you start getting punished.

Also, the second situation was entirely in your control. Sure having trolls in your game isn't in your control, but your decision to go AFK was completely up to you. If you didn't want to be marked as being AFK by the Leaverbuster system, then you could have at least try to do stuff. Go to a lane and farm minions, try to farm the jungle, try to defend your base. Sure, you're likely to fail and die, but you're not going to be flagged as AFK.
