To client update or not to client update?
My recommendation is no, especially if you have an older or low-end PC. The rumors about resizing of the layout have not been exaggerated. Nor, is all the features that the "Legacy" client has. Many data tracking features especially. It processes slower, and it seems to take longer from screen to screen. It's often klunky and sometimes the things you used to need all the time seem hidden. I had to ask someone where the trade champ button was, in champ select, LOL...didn't have to ask that the first time I saw it as a noob, just sayin'.
Then there's the load times. It would be understating to say that, getting to the champ select screen with time left, is a bit challenging. I have a solid connection and decent PC, and never got to the champ select screen late! NEVER! With the new client, i would often arrive with barely enough time to see who I had and set R/M! That is terribly frustrating. There is a low spec-mode option added now as well, but it is even worse. It has to close and reopen the client to operate while using less of your PC's resources, but it does that DURING THE LOAD SCREEN! Using the low-end spec mode, I TWICE arrived to the champ select screen with 10 seconds remaining. That kind of time, 1 wrong click during setup, and all of the sudden your playing Magic Pen Zed.
I have already reverted back to the Legacy client and will now be a hold out for as long as I can!
Feedback though from YOUR experiences is needed though! My opinion is not the only one. Have you found the Client Update to be a significant improvement? Or no?
