Sad but true.
Aeon of strife and the original Dota/Chaos heros wasn't the perfect moba.
But they were originals and i';d say 90% of my played games were satisfyingly fun and exciting with the only trolling being auto canceling someone to death when they know they're dead (you can hear the auto attack sound in league when you spam click+s...thats basicially what we did.. yeah its BM but it was funny and people usually were all good sports about BM back then)
Theres a difference between hostile BM and just being a jackass.
Anyone can be a jackass.
Only a hostile loser can be hostile BM.
Feeding/Afking/Negative attitude is hostile BM.
Promotes negativity ruins gameplay.. etc etc.. you name it...
In a game like aeon of strife(its a modded map/UMS for broodwar) for broodwar you really only had veteran map makers playing something like Aeon of Strife.
yeah it was popular but it was still an unpopular way to play broodwar compared to the regular RTS and thats even considering broodwars popularlity.
It wasn't even that popular of an RTS when you looked at the playerbase of gamers.
Most people played single player games or avoided PVP games back then (mid-late 90's)
I'd say its the overall poor parenting that seems to be common now a days.
People aren't raised with respect and manners anymore.
If anyone even said 1/10th of the shit you see in video games now a days my mother would've backhanded you back into your mothers womb so you could come out a better child next time maybe and then back handed your mother for raising you like a complete failure to society.
It's absolutely unacceptable the kind of talk people are using now a days.
I've never once used racist slanders, rape jokes, disease jokes(this is cancer lelelel...that kind of thing).
I mean the worse you'll see me talk about is my brain hurting from what just happened.
But thats about as far as I go honestly.
Theres people that just will say anything that pops into their head and its really upsetting and makes us more restrained gamers look really poorly despite us being the actual majority of gamers.
Nice people used to be the majority.
And now that we're getting into a spoiled generation of children it's becoming the miniority.
I hope the world changes for better and doesn't go down such a dark path.
It upsets me to always hear from a friend irl how theres so many toxic players in X game.
It wasn't this way 10+ years ago.
