Toxcicity in League of Legends

We as a community need to do something about the attitude of the players that partake in this game. I am sick and tired of teams constantly fighting over one little mistake and blaming everyone else for losing a game. It is time we all step up and take responsibility for our actions and not to blame others for a lost game. Yes this is a team game and I understand that one or two players can ruin the game for the rest of the team, but in solo queue you have to be able to rely on yourself and only yourself to win the game since you do not know anything about who you are playing with and how they play. When the toxicity of a game gets to a certain point i feel i have no other choice, but to leave the game and take whatever penalty that may come my way so I can save my time from a lost game and get away from an abusive environment. Something has to change now. We need to treat each other as if we were best of friends during the game and while online. If someone picks on your friends in real life you would stand up for them so do the same for your teammates because for however long the game lasts they are your friends, remember that.

Mutes your best friend bro. I just mute the whole team and say nothing unless they do something good. Then I give them a gj and keep right on playing with everyone muted. Either we fail spectacularly or we win and no one even notices I had them muted. Hell some games I mute the whole team I get honored afterwards.

You'd be surprised how just simply not seeing the shit they type can keep you from tilting even when they suck so bad. Also it keeps me from taking the flame bait myself when someone tries to ask me why I didn't do this or how come I'm not doing that. If I have a bad start I mute everyone sometimes too, just so no one says anything to make it any worse. Its not so much that what people say bothers me, but I've been banned for talking shit back to people enough. I've also been banned enough for just afking cuz my team was pissing me off and wouldn't surrender games we clearly weren't going to win. So I just mute them and do what I have to to win. Or I just powerfarm the jungle and splitpush with reckless abandon if its unwinnable and they wont surrender. Haven't been banned in ages now. Just try it sometime. They start pissing you off....mute all of them. Then just play. Pretend its you and 4 bots.

their is never a reason to afk from game, and toxicity is not preventing people from climbing, there is a mute button for a reason, and the only problem is that riot does not enforce the usage of the mute button, they in fact enforce "not" using it, they can create an auto ban system so there is so much more they can do.

Automatic mute on people who use to much profanity, escalated chat restrictions leading up to "chat" bans, "chat ban mode" where a person can choose to only have 1 chat permission per min to invoke less volatile speech pattern of their own accord. Reporting a player automatically mutes him for the future. Lest we forget that we also have the option to block all chat, we also have the option to keep on a profanity filter.

The issue with this community is that People "Choose" to open their eyes, and their ears to all the good and evils of this world and They are to fragile to exist in that "awakened" state shall we say. when they meet up with the negative, the blunt, and the Cruel mindset the crumble and then blame the world for being the world, and look to their adjudicators to "Fix" a "problem" that only exists because they "allowed" it to exist. You want a solution? change the report options, remove the stupid shit like unskilled, and simply have, Racial/homophobic slurs, Negative attitude, Afk, Intentional feeding/Greifing, cheating. and that should cover it.

Now for almost every single report, you have your system check people, and for the people who continually report people for "negative attitude" all riot has to do is have the system automatically re-enable everything they turned off that allowed negative attitude to effect them, re-enable all chat mute, and profanity filter, and then when that person feels like they are ready, they can turn it back off, and every time they start to repetitively report people for negative attitude it re-enables all the shit they turned off again. and then a person who gets reported a "large" number of times for negative attitude, may need to be chat restricted, leading up to a chat ban worst case scenario, and oh look....you have created a community of players with thicker skin, because they no longer need to overcome the Barrier that is a weak mentality.

Lyte is trying to hand out instant, permanent suspensions right now... but it seems like the only two options are 14 day or permanent bans. Maybe the system needs less severe options for less severe infractions? But yeah you have to have a really thick skin in this game it seems, because Riot doesn't take into account who started the argument. If a guy flames you all game, and you say nothing.. but at the end lose it, and curse him out, you will still most likely be punished if he reports. It goes against human nature not to react, but you have to try and fight it. And with all these systems, in my personal experience there hasn;t been that much of a decrease in toxicity. People are still generally really uptight in this game, especially ranked. I have noticed that there are less leavers and trolls in high gold than low gold so far though.

I'll try to not say much.

The more people you have in a community, you run higher chances of having nutjobs. LoL has millions of players. There will be nutjobs.

Example: I live in a city of 120,000 people. Barely hear of crime every year. At most, the norm will be like a bicycle stolen. Never heard of a shooting here, I've been living here for 20 years. 1 hour away is a city with more than 1 million people. You always of hear of crime (murders, gun violence). There's more people, more nutjobs.
