In the ladder of league "srs bzn" i consider ranked an area that should be taken seriously. You can have fun while taking it seriously. But having fun by trolling in ranked is just ruining 9 other people's experience imo.

to take an example if you pick 1st time trist adc in my ranked game i will dislike you, you're playing the match knowing you most likely won't do well. idc if you enjoy yourself and idc if you're a mordekaiser mid main, but try to stay in the meta that others follow and play what you can do well with. If you have fun trolling in ranked you're also an asshole because people just wanna play a game and enjoy it. (btw not saying any of that applies to you so don't rage~)

Usually when I see that in chat (in ranked) it's in the context of 'playing for fun' being equated to 'not trying your best'. Taken out of context it's not the best comparison, with that context however I tend to agree with the statement. Of course I also understand when someone is simply having a bad day and not doing well.

It's never that black and white OP, this statement could easily have a better tone with appropriate context.

I agree with you on the raging bit, but that statement alone does not constitute raging. Frustration maybe, not raging.

However, if I may, what is the point of playing ranked if you're not trying your best? Draft is literally the exact same thing.

Being a tryhard is not reportable. Playing ranked is for tryhards.

The definition of tryhard is : In online video games, it is that guy who is giving it 110% all the time because winning and/or having a high kill/death ratio is more important than just having fun.

Playing in ranked is meant to be playing to win, in all senses of the term. Ranked is meant for that.

There is next to none. Ranked is meant to be a competitive environnement. And so does the LCS. Picking smite on an ADC is not competitive. Expecially for someone who is/was in gold. Honnestly, I am for the slacking off in seriousness in ranked, but not trying hard in ranked is really dumb.

You have no right to say it isn't competitive just because you don't agree with it and it's not a part of the meta.

What does smite brings to an adc other than dragon control ?

It brings you down in lane and in teamfight by not having a summoner spell to help you out in early trades.

The main point of having it on a top laner is to enable him to farm the jungle in bad match ups (and early in the game competitively). It also means that the laner is fine with the fact of losing his tower early.

You don't want to lose your lane being an adc. You want to farm and deny farm to the ennemy adc.

Then I shall ask you again. What does smite brings to an adc other than dragon control ?

If you just want to "have fun" then why don't you just play normals where it has 0 effect on anything instead of ranked where it has effect on peoples MMR/LP loss and gain etc. etc.?

There are a large amount of reasons that I'm sure you can think of, such as people being more likely to surrender in a normal.

This post oozes toxic to me. It is against the rules to ruin another players good times, but going into ranked and trolling you are in fact ruining their experience. Ranked is a place where you play to win, that's what it's for. You can be bronze 5 and terrible but if you're trying to win idc how you do and i'll even help you do better. However if you come into a ranked game and pick soraka adc top lane and feed 0 34 then you're not making a non-meta pick or having fun, you're being an asshole that knowingly threw his teams game because you couldn't at least try it out in normals first.

It's not for bragging rights, it's for a competition. This is an e-sport, similar to chess, and you should at least respect that.

I have fun in ranked but I'm also trying to climb. If you're not going to take it seriously, please go do normals. Otherwise there is no point in you being in ranked.
