In the ladder of league "srs bzn" i consider ranked an area that should be taken seriously. You can have fun while taking it seriously. But having fun by trolling in ranked is just ruining 9 other people's experience imo.

If you just want to "have fun" then why don't you just play normals where it has 0 effect on anything instead of ranked where it has effect on peoples MMR/LP loss and gain etc. etc.?

This post oozes toxic to me. It is against the rules to ruin another players good times, but going into ranked and trolling you are in fact ruining their experience. Ranked is a place where you play to win, that's what it's for. You can be bronze 5 and terrible but if you're trying to win idc how you do and i'll even help you do better. However if you come into a ranked game and pick soraka adc top lane and feed 0 34 then you're not making a non-meta pick or having fun, you're being an asshole that knowingly threw his teams game because you couldn't at least try it out in normals first.

But to add to the thread, no, playing in ranked isn't exactly playing for fun, it's playing in the competitive fashion of the game, to rank up, as the title entails.

It's not for bragging rights, it's for a competition. This is an e-sport, similar to chess, and you should at least respect that.
Well ya i have little fun in ranked i never get mad or flame people in ranked but i personally don't find it much fun trying as hard as i can to win but i will forever play it because i want to get good.
I have fun in ranked but I'm also trying to climb. If you're not going to take it seriously, please go do normals. Otherwise there is no point in you being in ranked.
Usually when I see that in chat (in ranked) it's in the context of 'playing for fun' being equated to 'not trying your best'. Taken out of context it's not the best comparison, with that context however I tend to agree with the statement. Of course I also understand when someone is simply having a bad day and not doing well.
It's never that black and white OP, this statement could easily have a better tone with appropriate context.
