Item Build path for AP champs is very expensive
I was 4-0 with 140 cs and all i could afford was a Luden's. Am i missing something here? I just came back to the game not too long ago.

Nope. What you are missing, is that when you build one of the most expensive items in the game, of course it's going to take a lot of gold.
they are lowering prices next patch actually
AP items are getting changed in two patches. It won't be less expensive though.
