Really curious about people who experience "lag"

I've encountered at least one person in almost all of my recent games, where as soon as the game starts they go "omg im lagging so much my ping is like 500". What actually causes this? I have never ever ever had this issue. My ping is always a constant 42 with no fluctuation, and I never drop out of / lag during games. I'm curious why so many people have this issue and why it isn't being resolved, either on Riot's end or on the internet bill payer's end. It's especially frustrating in ranked games, when you're counting on all 4 teammates and they die a couple times and blame it on lag.

There's a few reasons.

It's the player's crappy computer
It's the player's shared internet with people streaming
They are really fucking bad and tell you that at the start so they can blame lag whenever something bad happens.
Their ISP is having issues with Riot's servers and while Riot would love to fix it but they can't.
Riot knows that an ISP is having issues with their servers, but they won't take them down to fix it, so lag happens while the fix is being applied.

95% of the time I think it's 3 :/

Why isn't it being resolved? Because no one on either cares enough to fix it. They'd rather give you copy and paste answers about switching to wired connections and disabling ipv6 every time.

Congratulations on being in the 1% that can play this game without issue.

Also #2 or #1. I've lived in Arizona for 2 years, only once had a DC because our entire block went out. Never had lag. I moved to WA state recently, no lag. Visited Canada, no lag. Went out east, zero lag. So I have no idea where the balls these lag issues are coming from except 1, 2, 3 and very rarely a 4 or 5. People in the states suffer from extreme narcissism where they refuse to believe they might be the issue so they project and blame a lot.

Holy shit you're lucky.

ISP issues. Family shared internet. Extreme weather.

Its either the modem or the ISP.

I used to play in the NA server from Perth, WA, Australia. I would get between 450-600 ping. I had never known any better ping when playeing League of Legends so getting below 450 was a blessing. When we got our own OCE server I would get 90-100 ping which was god's blessing to me. Now I get between 75-95 because ISP change. I've never played below 74 ping, ever.

The high ping that I get, even when I'm in OCE, is because the servers are all the way over to the eastern coast of Australia, while I'm in the western coast and that I live in a neglected suburb (when it comes to internet coverage).

Yeah my university's internet is unfortunately pretty suckish. I'll be fine, sitting at 35 ping for an hour or so, then all of a sudden it'll shoot up to 700+ for a good block of time and make the game pretty much unplayable. Completely random.
