She's not broken. She's countered by anyone with a stun, silence, or knockup. If you let her get fed and your team plays stupid (blows all their CC before she ults, don't target her specifically, etc.) then she becomes a problem. But that's a problem with your TEAM, not Kat.

A broken champ is more along the lines of the current Warwick. Thanks to the new jungle and items, you really have to be a special kind of bad in order to not stomp face with him.

If Kat was that good, LCS players would pick her. Ultimately it comes down to being like Master Yi, stun and done, or any CC for that matter. Though Kat is an excellent toon to carry matches on through lower elo or a team that lacks viable CC.

Play Alistar and watch that Katarina rage at you. Play a champion with one CC and if you good at it, it will cut down her ultimate fast if you have a quick reaction. You can also get Exhaust, which will cut her damage by half. I typically do this method.

She actually did get a pretty sizeable nerf considering how easily she's countered. She's in a fine spot
