I'm a big fan of solitude. I'm an introvert by nature, so I absolutely love being alone for long periods of time. Most of the people I know are extroverts, so I often have trouble finding time to be by myself. I've managed to surround myself with people who are there for those occasional days where I don't feel like being alone.
Not everyone understands the difference between solitude and loneliness, so it often surprises me to be reminded that there are some people out there who are truly lonely. I can choose to stop being alone, but some people have surrounded themselves with people they feel the need to hide from. They can't make that choice.
Thank you for reminding me, it actually came at a good time. If you're posting this to help yourself just know that there's always someone who will listen to you out there. The only way to find out is to open yourself up and see who stays. It's not a nice process, but when someone stays it means the world to you.
