I'm sick of people saying that you lose more LP if you surrender. It's not true and even when you tell them to google it they just go like "mhmm" or dodge the statement. I understand that in silver league your games can change like you can be losing and then you can win because one of them became greedy, I call it the silver syndrome, when you're wrecking the other team so bad that you think that as varus you can 1v5 them. Anyways, it's just annoying when the other team is really destroying us and we can't surrender because one or two guys believe that they'll lose more LP by surrendering than losing and the other team is trolling by not finishing us off. Please riot debunk this bullshit.

I think it might be true, but even if it's not, don't you owe to those players to still do your best?

It's not true though, I lose the same amount of lp when I surrender.

What? I signed up to play a ranked game that might last that long. I don't understand why people prefer to waste more time than just starting a new game asap.

On a side note you do earn less IP (and XP, if you're <30).

I always heard it was the ever invisible MMR you lost more of if your surrendered.

I'm in the "you're playing Ranked, you don't surrender" camp, so it's not something I've tried to hunt down.

1st of all, if it was the case then rito would have said something or even hinted it, heck even removed the surrender option.

2nd of all, if you're getting rekt like royally rekt then why waste your time playing? Why not just start a new game?

I'm here to play the game, not to try and play as many matches as I can.

Besides, with how long the death timers are if you can stall out the game you have a 50/50 chance of winning.
