Well looks like reporting people is useless.

So yesterday I played a norm Q match with 4 people premade. I picked the champ that I wanted and locked in, _please note that I play Norm Q's to kill some time and I don't throw or intentionally feed the enemy team, _and from the champ select screen they dropped the N bomb on me twice. I let it fly and in game they kept calling me a baddie, the N word again and saying something along the lines of they should have holocausted all the retards. Now during that whole game, the WORST thing I have said was a response to that line and I wrote "Well then you would have been dead too". So after the Game I reported them and I received a pop up saying something about offensive language. I relog later on to receive a 10 game chat restriction, I got friend requested by 2 guys from that same match and accepted their friend request ONLY because I wanted to see if they would keep going with the racism and stuff to send a report to rito. That guy actually told me that they received a pop up stating that SOMEONE from our game got chat restriction and it wasn't him or his friends, not sure if this is true.

I made a ticket about my 10 game chat restriction which was unwarranted and this is what I got: "We have audited your recent in-game behavior and issued chat restrictions due to excessive cases of verbal toxicity. They were placed on the account due to the consistent trend of negative behavior in your recent games. They are meant as a warning while encouraging more tact in in-game chat. Improving your chat etiquette while on restriction decreases the odds of getting additional restrictions or a harsher punishment." My recent games were the 2-3 games that I have played recently and the last time I played was when ekko was released. In those games I have not insulted anyone and I'm sure Rito can provide chat logs and if you do please provide the chat logs of those people that were racist too.

I have a problem with this statement: "It's important to keep in mind that we do not tolerate negative behavior of any kind, including retaliating to toxic behavior in the same manner. If someone else is being toxic, feel free to mute them and report them later." 1st of all I didn't retaliate with toxic behavior, it didn't bother me that they were toxic, I wasn't offended. I didn't cry err muh feelings and st00f I'm going to report you to the cyberp0l1ce. Reading the chat is actually what makes norm Qs fun because the people I play with and versus sometimes remind me of my past behavior in LoL and it makes me laugh. Say I do mute them, and report that 1 toxic player, how would I know if the rest became toxic too? I would just report those 4 players randomly and cross my fingers?

Were there logs provided in the email notification about your chat restrictions? I believe there should be, and they would probably help provide the answer to your case.

Without them, I can only comment based on how the system usually works. Notice the statement:

They were placed on the account due to the consistent trend of negative behavior in your recent games.

Punishments aren't based off a single game, but a trend over time. So you weren't given a chat restriction for this one instance. That game was just the last one where you were reported before the system caught up with you. I suppose I could see a case where the last game may have been a false report, but the games leading up to that may very well have merited a chat restriction anyhow.

Also, the system will catch up to these four sooner or later (you did report them, right?).

I feel like you may not realize that the mute button works on an individual-player basis. Meaning you mute a single player at a time. So... if you mute the toxic player, you would know if the rest became toxic because you could still see their chat - until or unless you muted them as well.

I don't know about what your chat logs look like from that game or in the games before the one that got you banned. That aside I do know that Riot's report system is set up so in the case of a 4 premade vs 1 solo player the solo player's report holds just as much weight to the system as the 4 reports against you.

Or rather looking a little deeper. A report is simply a flag to the system "check this player out" so receiving 1 reports or 4 in the same game is meaningless to the program, it just looks through that game for you(and the people you reported) and then checks that against what it already has on you and decides if you should receive a punishment of some sort.

Okay that makes sense, but you'll see when I get the link to my reform card.

Good deal :) I really don't like seeing people feel bad about playing the game. I believe in punishment, but I also believe most people just make mistakes in judgement and I'm really hoping this new section starts to help this. GL no matter if we agree or not friend :)

So even if I stop playing for like a year, and come back with positive attitude and get reported once then I still risk the chance of getting chat restriction? That's seems odd.

I am fairly certain that it goes by games played not time. So, if you were punished and left for x amount of time, it is the same a playing a game the next day. Did that make sense to you ?

In other words, Riot tries to make the punishment work so that if your punished you can't just jump on another account for a time and come back to the punished one and have a fresh clean slate. Hope that helps, I'm not making a judgement about you just trying to help explain it :P

If you can't find the reform card in your email, check your spam folder. If you still can't find it there then open up a Support Ticket asking for it (in a respectful manner I might add).
