-__IP: Pushing the Limits.

When you own all champs, runes(stacked at 20 pages), What else is there to spend IP on? I created this thread to hopefully inspire some ideas as to extra uses of IP, so maybe Rito can give us Scrooges some lighter-weighted wallets. Mine's starting to over flow with IP and I was curious what there was to use it for. Sure I can wait for new champs, but the in-between time is daunting. I can't spend my IP on anything and it bugs me a bit.

Rito, do you plan on making any additions to the market for further IP spending? People post your ideas below, maybe we can come up with something <3 (.)

My ideas:

  1. Battle Boosts purchasable with IP as well as RP(Ofc at higher rate.)That mechanic for a onetime-skin/ip gain? Maybe remove the IP gain if you spent ip on it? Dunno.
  2. Icons! Come on, why are Icons only purchasable via RP only?
  3. Rune/Page/Champ gifting service, with IP XD (.)
  4. The new Mastery system coming up, maybe spend IP on special borders/banners/details involved into the system.
  5. [I'm blank.]

It's a tough question when you take into consideration Rito's Marketplace Policy, but there has to be something that we can spend IP on anytime we want, when we want, and have some sort of benefit from it. Instead of just having IP build up and be practically useless. Even if it's only something that affects us, it would be nice to buy something. I like to spend... I feel edgy when I can't spend it, XD (.) I guess a part of me feels a bit completionist and I'm at that point where I'm like, "I've done everything... nothing left to unlock or shoot for... What's the point on going on?" I feel like without the ability to spend the IP on, I'm slowly losing purpose to play. I always played to unlock and achieve everything I could, and without further use of that Monetary system, it's like half-the-game is nullified.

Maybe they could do some kind of exchange rate between IP and RP for having lots of IP. Naturally they'd have to put things into place like making sure you don't have much better to spend your ip on (you own more than maybe... 75-80 champions?), you have more than 10 rune pages, etc. Maybe they could do it on a number of games played basis or something....

Riot has lots of skins, and if you're supporting the game long enough to have thousands of IP and nothing to spend it on, they need something for you because you're one of the players that makes the game keep going, and you've probably been supporting LoL for quite a while.

Also, I know it's pretty touchy when you consider that RP is based in real currency. It's why they need limits in place so that people don't just grind up IP for all kinds of RP stuff. Like, just sitting around grinding games with Annie and doing nothing else for some free RP.

I like where you're headed, and I couldn't have preached it better myself,

I've been here since Season 1, and have only ever spent RP on skins, never boosts or champs. I don't feel entitled to any special treatment, and I feel mitigating an IP service like that would create some controvery between the new started or last season joiners, and those who've been playing for a while. It'l create an elitist mentality which can hurt the community. ARAM did it right because other people don't know you own all those champs, so your reroll isn't impacting anyone else in anyway really, y'know. But a service that blatantly gives pro's to those who've been here for a while, as nice as it sounds, it does have some cons.

I love where you're going, but I think it should be open and freely used for those who just don't know what to buy or can't buy. But(For the millionth time) it could benefit Rito maybe, if it also stimulates people to want to play more, knowing their experience and ip is gaining a snowball affect where you can open and acquire more and more stuff, rather than a trailing affect where there is an evident and clear end to the tunnel.

Um play to improve and rank up? I mostly use my IP to name change when i feel it. I've probable name changed like 5 or more times and i still probable have over 60K IP if not more. I dunno, i wish they had an IP sink that would benefit us or even let me spend IP on other people but currently i just try and rank up since i own all champs and runes and such also.

When you've been playing for so long, at least with my mentality, glory and kittens isn't what it used to be. I like playing, win or loss. That's half of it. The other half just feels empty y'know. Like the hundreds and thousands of battles you've fought, for better or worse, bloodied or Raka' healed up, and at the end of the day you look at your account and you're like, "Like. It was worth it." I'm not saying because Im IP'd out the whazzoo, I'm not going to play or even play less games, I love League of Legends. The only online game I've ever liked. But end-game is rough... I know this isn't an MMO, but some-sort of end--game content would be really nice.
