Silver last season, Bronze this season percentages?

Hello, all. As you can probably guess from the title, I'm a player ranked Silver last season who made Bronze this season. Specifically, I went from Silver IV/V (I tended to fluctuate between the two) to Bronze V. But I'm not here to bitch about elo hell or anything like that- I'm climbing fairly well and I'm not too worried. However, I've noticed that in 95% of my games somewhere between 2 and 3 of my teammates also have the silver boarders indicating they were in Silver last season. What's up with that? Exactly what percentage if last season Silvers got Bronze in provisionals this season?

Again, not looking to bitch and moan and say the system is unfair or anything- I'm getting back up there and I'm sure others will, too. I'm just curious about the statistics because it seems really weird the number of former Silvers I'm playing with and against. Did it have something to do with the way the soft reset worked? I know Riot said to expect a lower ranking than you got last season... maybe it has something to do with that?

Part of it is that Silver 5 is still Bronze for a lot of people. There are people who get Silver 5 and then sit there tanking games. Unless you get a Bronze 5 MMR while tanking you won't be demoted back to Bronze. As such you have a lot of Bronze players in S5.

I was playing with a bunch of 'previously' Silver people back when I got Bronze 3 last season, it happens all the time. Honestly it's the same with any '5' tier. Gold 5, Plat 5, Diamond 5. Some of them belong in their divisions but others made it there and then started losing a bunch of games because they weren't really gold/plat/diamond. They still get the boarder but they don't get placed in that league the next season.

I don't know what the percentage is exactly, but I do know that it normally doesn't fluctuate too much.

Gold last season, bronze this season. Lanes are easy, opponents make dumb mistakes... then my team afks.

Maybe if I was plat or diamond skill I could carry a 4v5 but gold skill isn't enough for that
