Phage to Guinsoo's Rageblade.

Due to the request of Meph, I thought I'd just rework the thread. I will use embedding when it's functional again.

At the moment Guinsoo's Rageblade - this is my own opinion - isn't as good as it could be.
Very little champions can really get the best out of it. ( Jax, Kayle, Lulu ... )
So with the new Phage conveniently showing up, with a passive named 'Rage', I thought maybe Riot could make Phage build into Guisnoo's Rageblade.

  • I came up with 2 ideas :

    • N° 1 : Phage ( 1250 Gold ) + Blasting Wand ( 860 Gold ) + 990 gold = Guisnoo's Rageblade ( Total Cost : 3100 Gold )
  • Guisnoo's Rageblade :

    • 45 Ap | 30 Ad | 250 Hp |
    • Passive : 'Rage' : Basic attacks grant 20 movement speed for 2 seconds on hit. Minion, monster, and champion kills grant 60 movement speed for 2 seconds.
    • Passive : 'Guisnoo's Rage' : Your basic attacks or spellcasts grant you 5% attack speed and 5 ability power for 8 seconds. This bonus stacks up to 7 times. Falling below 35% health doubles the effect of 'Rage', grants you 20% attack speed and causes you to heal from 10% of all damage you deal until you exit combat. 45 second cooldown.

Explaination :

  • I upped the passive to 35 % because of my minor OCD.
  • Lowered the 'second passives' effect to 35 % because of the massive mobility boost it grants and upped it's cooldown because of the same reason.
  • Upped the Ap and Health amount by a little because of the high cost.
  • And now to Idea N° 2 :

    • It would end up the same as idea N° 1, although I would like to build in a small 'gap item' for extra convenience. The item would be called either 'Malady' or 'Guisnoo's Spellblade'.
      Blasting Wand + 500 Gold = Malady / Guisnoo's Spellblade ( Total Cost : 1360 Gold )
  • Malady / Guisnoo's Spellblade :

    • 40 Ap
    • Passive : Guisnoo's Rage : Your basic attacks or spellcasts grant you 3% attack speed and 3 ability power for 8 seconds. This bonus stacks up to 7 times.

Malady / Guisnoo's Spellblade + Phage + 390 Gold = Guisnoo's Rageblade

Ofcourse there is the problem of Trinity Force : If you build Glasscanon Jax you buy Guisnoo's and Trinity. And with Guisnoo's having the 'Rage' passive, why buy both ? Also, the new Guisnoo's has a much higher Cost, who could afford it ?

  • Answers :
    • The Rage passive is doubled with Guisnoo's when its passive procs. It is far superior to Trinities. Therefor you will lose nothing when buying both.
    • Every other Stat beside the Rage Passive Stacks perfectly. Trinity has more Ad damage ( Crit strike, Sheen proc ) while Guisnoo's has more Ap ( 75 Ap ). Buying both will give you better hybrid stats
    • Guisnoo's offers alot of sustain in battle, which Trinity does not. It might be smarter to actually buy Guisnoo's first, instead of Trinity. ( I doubt that though .. )
    • The gap item 'Malady' / Guisnoo's Spellblade offers you the option of buying 1 component first, then getting Trinity and then getting the rest of Guisnoo's at a more affordable time / when you are more tanky.

All of this is just my idea. In no way has it been tested for efficiency or power. All I wanted to do is clarify / propose a possible way for Phage to build into Guisnoo's Rageblade. There are more ways.

Please comment your thoughts. Thanks for reading :)

Sorry about the embedding thing. We're getting that straightened out!

I really like this. Making Rageblade build out of phage is genius. I feel blasting wand + phage works fine.

Really though riot just needs to have more abilities have AP ratios. Once upon a time spells scaled with spell damage.

Interesting idea. I like hybrid items, and the idea of hybrid champions, despite the fact that it seems Riot has shelfed that methodology since the game came out of beta. And I also agree that Phage needs something else to build out of. The <50% health proc on Rageblade is really cool and I don't think we've seen it used to its potential in high level play yet(this proc stays active until you leave combat!). I know there was one game at #worlds where we saw Aatrox buy it, but we need moar! I personally love to explore hybrid builds in ARAM, almost always starting with a Rageblade.

Now, my question to you, JackAqua, is what do you do with the "Rage" effect from Phage when you've built the Rageblade? Does it stay the same? Does it get amplified? Does it change all together? You've obviously got some creativity, you should give a go at adjusting the passive.

How about change the rage effect, to a different unique so u could proc it at same time as trinity? or put this proc as priority if u get both.

Support this, but still can't upvote somehow
