Emotes available outside events

I was wondering why event emotes are only available during the event they're a part of? I feel it would make emotes much more worth it if we could select emotes to use in normals and ARAMs, even when events are over. We would be more inclined to get the emotes if I were able to use them outside of the game mode they were designed for, and they would be a fun, in game way to show what events I've been a part of, and add another dimension to future events.
