First Strike Borders and Disruption Cache Question

So I've been waiting for the skins to be unlocked in the store since last week Tuesday, finally they are unlocked and I spend somewhere between 35 and 40 dollars on the disruption bundle. I then read the small print on the crafting pages and see that I can't get any first strike icons right now, because the disruption cache isn't available until next week. That wouldn't be so bad, if you could actually purchase enough disruption caches to unlock all the borders.

Before the event started I believe most rioters were saying all the components (besides the skins) could be accessed with IP OR RP. But now it looks like if I want to complete my set it wasn't enough to buy the skins on release, I also have to spend an additional $10 dollars or so on augment caches just to get the first strike icons.

This doesn't feel fun, or like a cool way to spend my IP, it feels obnoxious, and a little greedy. I think if you want to reward the players who purchased the skins early, at full price, during the event there's no need to additionally nickel and dime to unlock the cool stuff that comes along with the skins.

I understand it's a business and the bottom line of producing cosmetic content is to create revenue, but this feels super greedy. If anything remove the skin shards, and augment cache fragments from the disruption cache and allow players to purchase more than one, or hell even add project cores directly to the shop for IP/RP.

tl;dr: the project crafting system is overly complicated, not at all fun, and requires SIGNIFIGANT financial investment from players to full participate in. All in all if I want the 3 skins, and their borders, I'm looking at close to the full retail price of the average game.

You can get one more border with just IP (minus paying for skins) You can get two borders of you buy 1 of the augmented caches To get the third you will need to buy at the most 4 more, as you get two cores from each A cache. (All this is counting you wait till next week to get the disruption cache, and don't want to use the cores to unlock the skin blueprint you get there)

I'm aware. My issue is with the fact that to unlock a simple loading border it requires the following:

1 Border: No RP (great) 2 borders: 295 additional RP 3 borders: 1475 RP. Which is more than 10 dollars.

Just for a border on the loading screen. This is obscenely greedy and it flies in the face of them wanting to make more light lift content that you can get with IP for those of us like myself with thousands of useless IP laying around. I've spent north of 800 dollars in the two and a half years I've been playing. I'm not averse to paying a fair price for content I don't have to buy, but I feel that this first strike nonsense this year is very anti-player and super obnoxious.

Be nice to hear from a rioter on the potential for project cores as a standalone buy.
