With Millions of players League of Legends is pretty popular, and people from all around the world with different backgrounds, personalities and thoughts play it. People have to play LOL for a reason right?

I play LOL because it relieves my stress, and i overall just enjoy playing it. Either solo or with friends.

So league community, Why do you play League of Legends?

I like slow games, slow as in you get all this money and get really strong, and then destroy everything.

Because it's still insanely satisfying to land a perfect MissFortune Ultimate that wrecks most of the enemy team.

Like Chroma said, it's a slow game. Engagement time between champions is usually more than 3 seconds long for the majority of the game. Most modern pvp anything is about 5 seconds and then one of you is back to the respawn. It's all about burst and catching someone offguard rather than tactical choices and moves.

Sure, you rev a fed ADC up and that's what happens, but it's rarely out the gate.

Slow-play games. That's why I play LOL.

EDIT: Oh, and I, you know, enjoy it. It's fun.

Tried it out on a whim... My own account and copious amounts of money later... I'm having way too much damn fun now. I especially like theory crafting builds for champions, even if I possibly suck at it for now.

Busty Demoness9/3/2016, 6:48:29 AM1 votes

Usually because I get to keep playing MissFortune who is often ripped off by other games.

Even though a few of those games make me so miserable I'd rather step on a lego.

EDIT: Derp.. I already replied with the (almost) same answer...

Mostly so that I can continue my quest to find the dumbest pick that still works.

So far, I'm on support Urgot.

I really, really, really, REALLY like Ezreal. Especially now that Arcade's out and I can buy a tear and get into a farming rhythm and just hear nothing but that beautiful clicking of his Q until suddenly I'm fed off farm qB^)

I doubt many other people like playing for the same reason I do, but I love theorizing and trying to find new builds. To me LoL is a puzzle were different mechanics come together. I put them together in new builds, and I get to test and see if they work. The competitive player base means that there will always be players for me to test out my builds against at roughly my skill level, so I can be reasonably sure that if I do well its because my decisions were right, not because I've memorized some bot ai so I can make literally anything work.

I know most of the stuff I plan is absolute garbage, but its the designing that's the fun part.

I play cause I enjoy it. Despite any gripes I might have with how some things are set up or how some champs get swept under the rug while others hog the spotlight for years (which with how many champs there are, it's bound to happen to some degree), I do enjoy playing the game, learning the lore and talking about the game with others (especially lore theories :p). It's a game with plenty of potential, though at times I do feel like it tries to let out as little potential as possible to get schmucks like me playing longer thinking "any day now, Rito will descend from their white horse and take ups to the promised land game".

Aside from that, paying attention to Riot when they add new things lets me know what it will be like when I enter the video game industry. Each champ is like a new game (will it be good? will it have a good story? will it have good mechanics? how buggy will it be?) and each rework is like a games sequel (will it be similar enough to the old one? will this one change things up just right? will it appease the fans while drawing in new ones?).

It's the only half decent multiplayer game out now.

I also have a goal (Hit plat) and League is a game I'm fairly good at.

"I'll just ult that Sona anddd..."

-shink-

Fate Fire (Caitlyn) has slain Katarina

"WHAAAT, lol!"

Needless to say, an enemy Kat shunpo'd the exact second Ace in the Hole fired leading to her death and almost mine as I couldn't stop laughing. It's this and many other small moments that I really enjoy when playing the game. Don't really care about wins or losses, I live for the small moments of sheer moments of random events like that.

As well, and I feel somewhat embarrassed by it, but I usually imagine being some kind of anime hero that swings their sword or does something epic. Ahri, Ashe, and Taliyah give me that sort of feeling that I'm having that amazing fight, even if it's just bursting one person kind of like

Weird interest, wish there was more stuff like this.
