Would be nice to see them have a competitor of sorts! Or maybe find a way to represent more types of music groups?

Keep dreaming. As much as we all want this skin line to happen, it's very hard for a community created skin to ever become official. There are lots of copyright and licensing complications that make implementing them for profit a thorny prospect.

Its not like Popstar ahri was a carbon copy of the fan-concept and I doubt that licensing is an issue if they still do their own version of the skin concept.

Find the board where a Rioter asks the community for skin ideas but leaves a picture saying "no promises". I can't remember all of them but I know somebody commented a gentleman gnar. There were definitely some made into skins, I remember that much. Can't remember the title.

Project Leona was a community skin. I remember even specifically showing a Rioter the community made picture in a conversation about Leona skins. I never got a response to that, though it turns out that is probably because they were actually working on it at the time because that was about 3 months before the Project skin line release.

Battle Bunny Riven is a community skin though, Riot is just very picky and in the case of popstar Ahri they had to change the concept quite a bit since it violated copy rights of the korean pop band(can't recall the name right now)outfits they have done
