Shut down most of the enemy team? Ahris Q is the only thing in her kit that hits multiple targets (consistantly anyways). Her laning is extremely weak this patch, to the point where 70% of midlaners have an advantage against her simply because they have faster/safer/easier thunder lords procs. Comparing abilities, her Q does about the same damage as any one ability of the 5 I've mentioned. Her charm does 1/3 - 1/2 of that until late game where everyone is so tanky it doesn't matter, and her w is ~1/2 at all stages of the game (assuming you hit all 3 orbs). Her ult can do = damage to her Q, but that's assuming the enemy you are outplaying doesn't have a targeted stun, or aoe slow.

The 5 I've mentioned have some form of zone control and are able to hit an entire team, or at least do considerable multi target damage with 2 or more abilities. Ahri however, can only do reasonable multi target damage with her q, her W and R are completely random, and the acquisition ranges have been extremely inconsistent lately. 95% of the time I use ahris W I only hit 2 foxfires, and the only way to hit all 3 is if I'm within 200 range. Malzahar has an aoe silence, and a max health burn, along with ~3000 hp and an ult that as of now, can one shot. Yes I've actually 100-0 someone as malzahar with just his ult, granted I was 7-2 with roa, liandries and rylais and it was on the enemy adc.

Lux has 3 multi target abilities, I don't think i need to elaborate on why scoring 1000 damage on her ult, along with all the cc she has is sort of annoying. Sure she needs to scale up but her laning is extremely safe, and her E is one of the easiest skillshots to land in the game. Brand has a huge banrate for a reason. He has always been this ridiculously overpowered, its just now people are noticing. His W is probably the easiest skillshot of its class to hit. When I was playing these 5 in ranked I would always just spam brand w lvl one in the midlane. 70% of the time I would force the opposing laner to back pre lvl-2. His Aoe is ridiculous, and his max hp burn makes whatever team has him brand win. Veigar is possibly the 2nd easiest midlaner other than annie. Not much to say here, excellent zone control that shuts ahri down, untill recently he was the only champ in the game with a literal 1 shot button. He is way too easy to harness all the power of a huge aoe stun, infinite scaling and a 1:1 ap ratio on half of his abilities.

Anivia was something that I didn't notice until recently. Her laning has become WAY too safe. Safe to the point where harass doesn't even matter. Ahri for example, does no damage with her q to her. However, this is up for debate because I find ahris Q damage to be extremely inconsistent. I've found it can fluctuate between 1/3 and 1/7th on 2 enemies with the same health and mr. I've even found instances where the true damage is doing less than the tooltip says (according the the numbers that show up when hitting something). Sure Ahri has her ult for outplays, but the 5 that I've mentioned are all pretty tanky, or have the CC to easily deal with her (veigar E, Anivia Ult E, Lux E slow into Q, Malz R, Brands E Q). All 5 that I have mentioned have consistent 100-0's on anyone who isn't a tank/juggernaut, but Ahri can only 100-0 an averagly fed ADC midgame, or the enemy midlaner assuming she is fed.

Almost everyone who has played Ahri that I know says that she is pretty lacking compared to the new meta Midlaners, I've even had a master player tell me that Ahri cant do much in this meta. I'm ranked the 854th best Ahri player in NA and I still can barely use her in this meta. She just isn't good vs the 5 that I have mentioned (Anivia is debatable though)
