http://imgur.com/YhRIFHY Saw that ad. noticed it was actually rengar.

Here are the player replies and its only been a couple hours and its 9am

"The thing to keep in mind here is that this game is basically a Chinese-made game. The original is from China, and is designed with many classical Chinese cultural/mythical references. Thus, it is to be expected that it will share a number of characteristics and concepts with other games from the same region. This does not equate to stealing art or ideas directly, but is simply a matter of two game developers drawing off of the same pool of inspirational materials."

Yes, so that means its OK to steal a picture of Rengar created by Riot for their advertisement

"And... Why would you care about it? I've played another Browser Games which even have THE SAME heroes than LoL in their games, if you are going to complain about just 1 picture cmon... you should flame those others games then"

This guy is just stupid

"Now we found out the league of legends fanboy lol"

I guess calling out the company for stealing art makes me a fanboy of whatever company they stole art from.

"I dont know if you noticed but a lot of the characters in game are based on League of Legends. It's not just the advertisements. But a lot of chinese games are actually based off the same models. The Wolf mount in LoA 2 - that you get when you first get vip - it's exactly the same as the wolf from Kingdom Rift and also Celestial Dynasty. Same with the horse."

OK but that means ok to actually steal rengar art from LoL? What is this guy's point?

a low level mod "informed senior mod"

Senior mod wanted link to the ad but clicking the link brings you to league of angels website. Told him where I found it and no response yet.

Well, LoL is Chinese owned now (Tencent), and while it's no excuse, I guess the Chinese have never, ever copied anything before...

While I do highly agree with what you're saying. I don't think this belongs in Memes & Games.

While I see where the first person is coming from especially since I play smite and I hear people complain about how we stole wukong from LoL. And other people like Susano in which people say we copied Yasuo despite Susano being the OG wind samurai

That isn;t an excuse to steal art and use it to advertise your own game.

For those that dont know AND THIS IS NOT BEING RACIST THIS IS FACT

china rewards lying, dishonesty and taking advatage where you can. It is considered unintelligent to do otherwise.

The rewards structures in china actively reflect this truth and there are many many many many many scholarly works that align with this premise.

Its a problem that needs to be fixed in china pretty badly
