you can only get 1 chest from 1 champion so if you play solo and get S+ in 10 games with caitlyn you will only get 1 chest.

nope fair share of S's just all on Naut, so no new chests, ie One Trick Pony

Same here. I get so many key fragments it's disgusting. I think I've gotten 3 from my last 5 wins alone.

The chest system is a trick to make you spend money to buy keys. You feel "Omg Riot is so good for giving me chests! I just need keys." And you feel like your responsibility to get the keys, so you spend money to buy keys.

3$ here, 3$ there ... zzzzz.

Cheap Tactics

At least SMITE and DOTA2 give you actual stuff for your money.

I haven't spent any money on the Hextech system.

I've unlocked Zombie Brand, Dunkmaster Darius, some Kat skin that wasn't really special... and as soon as I have the IP to buy Skarner I will have Battlecast Alpha Skarner (could unlock Haunted Zyra or Project Yi instead, but saving those for now).

Pretty satisfied.

Yeah, complaining about not getting more free stuff on top of free stuff or not getting enough of one free items as often as another free item seems to be a common complaint here. We didnt use to have hextech to give away free stuff and people complained about the grind so they implemented it. Now we're complaining about this. There is no pleasing some people.

It's no trick at all. Some Rioter confirmed that you should be able to get 4 keys per month (so the chest:key ratio is even).

The basic rules for key fragment drops are:

Key frags are only dropped from wins.

Key fragment drop rates work off of a per player cyclical reset timer, similar to chests. Higher drop rates are slightly front-loaded and gradually slow based on the total number of key fragments you’ve received in a cycle until the reset.
It’s possible to earn 4 keys (12 fragments) in a 4 week period. This matches the number of chests players can get.
There is a bad-luck protection rule that puts a maximum number of wins between key frag drops.
Players get a small drop chance bonus if they were in a premade.
