Wonder if they are gonna have another Ascended champion later on. One that is far older than Nasus or Renekton seeing as those two have been around since before Azir.

honestly, probably not. based on what we have to go on it's very likely that renekton and nasus are actually pretty old, even for ascended. ascension only increases lifespan by a few centuries, and for them some of that was before azir, and some of that was after.

to specify that they aren't immortal, they just have very long lives. assuming every hundred counts as 1 normal for them, and they ascended in their late 20's they are likely late 40's at the beginning of current league of legends, when renekton was released more specifically. it should also be noted that there is no mention of any other ascended beings in their story, which isn't particularly strange considering how much emphasis is placed on that being a rare occurrence. what would be strange is an ascended being appearing later on that was supposedly there the whole time, as it would be that being that nasus and renekton would likely have known in life before ascending as well as after, and would likely have strong bonds to, as well as the fact that xerath would've needed to trick that one as well. yet, no mention at all.

if they did do another ascended, it would have to be an ascension that happens in the current era

Actually there could be other ascended being, its not directly said that there were but it could be inferred. "They took their place alongside the other rare Ascended beings of Shurima, and became its protectors." plus the ascension ritual was already something that was known about by the sun priests, so they must have preformed other ascension rituals in the past.

"They took their place alongside the other rare Ascended beings of Shurima, and became its protectors." can be interpreted to mean simply that they are Ascended now, and that there were multiple ascensions through time, but not necessarily that there are multiple ascended beings that did exist in that period. which is evidenced by the lack of any ascended being other than the brothers during azir's pre ascended life period, which of course is made clear through xerath and renekton's story.

also don't need to do something to know something, sun priests likely knew the spells through tomes, and probably practiced it, but they likely never actually did the ritual beforehand. i mean, shurima is clearly an old place, so it's likely that there are super ancient ascended, but those super ancient ascended are likely to have already died, as ascension is not immortality.

Very true on all points I was just trying to point out that there could be other ascended beings or certain characters who could have their lore changed a bit to fit that role aka Skarner could be a potential ascended being that hibernated for a very long period. That being said I don't think it would be good to do that but I could see it happening particularly to Skarner as his old lore loosely related to the rune wars and thus summoners who no longer exist.

Unless Sivir gets a Cannon Legendary Skin where she undergoes an Ascension ritual and gets something like Ascended Sivir. What animal would she be though is the question.

I don't see how this has any relevance. you yourself thought that there could be an ancient ascended, to which I replied that it was unlikely, which is what this discussion is built from.

Not shooting the idea of sivir becoming ascended down however, of the current characters that we know of in the lore she has one of the higher likelihoods of ascending, though it would likely not happen unless her character shifts a bit, but that shift is an acceptable theory.

Skarner and Rammu are both in the list for lore updates, I would not be surprised if Rammus gets retconned as an ascended. Skarner's a bit of a long shot, but it's still possible.

I think a lot of people are missing the point on this one...

Xerath and Renekton were basically entombed for centuries before getting let back out. What if.... and this is just an if... there was a lost to the history books an Ascended that was punished for some unforgivable crime like killing an emperor and he was entombed for eternity?

Someone that no one knew existed in the era that Nasus and Azir would know of because he was effectively removed from history and now with the rise of Xerath it caused some event to awaken a long locked away Ascended being. He'd have to be locked away somewhere obscure and hidden, hence why Rek'sai is patrolling the desert. Maybe she was placed there to kill any that happen to wander too close this beings final resting place. Or maybe this Ascended being is like Kassadin and Malzahar and have been Void Touched and considered an abomination and was removed from history all together.

The Nasus/Renekton story was good, but didn't really hit me in the feels. The Amumu story is probably gonna slay me, considering how depressing his music video was.

Genocide run was kind of a guilt trip, but it pales in comparison to the neutral ending runs, especially if you killed bosses. I.E King papyrus ending.

nasus is a scholar who becomes a general and commands an army and while renekton is fighting, susan is stealing enemy's library. one day amumu hugs nasus and nasus almost dies, azir decides to make him ascendant to cure him, but susan is too weak to go all the way up

so renekton carries him to the top and both became ascended.

afer xerath and azir romance ended, the brothers went back to shurima to imprison xerath in the tomb, but once again (?) renekton had to get stuck with xerath and went insane, susan decided to travel alone, grieving and became a legend to the people

i think this is all, i didnt read renekton's lore, waiting on amumu's but it seems like it'll take a month to be released
