This is probably because Riven had a toxic fanbase for a long time.
Same reason why Vayne is often used as a representation of toxic ADCs.
I mean Riven I'm okay with fighting because as Singed, it feels like I can at least outplay her. Now, Irelia buffs are what made me go "WELP".

Even if I obtained Championship Riven I wouldn't use it, I don't consider myself worthy of using it. And by worthy I mean finally being able to master animation cancelling.
