That is very true. Few things are as infuriating as a team that surrenders a winnable game. http://imagesmtv-a.akamaihd.net/uri/mgid:file:http:shared:mtv.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/breaking-bad-pizza-gif-1426117961.gif
Yeah...more infuriating than a guy who won't surrender an unwinnable game.
I know any game can be turned around, but sometimes it's just ridiculous.
Very fews games are truly unwinnable. But people get into the habit of quitting every time the game gets hard, and thus start yelling "unwinnable" every other game. https://www.thatguy.com/wp-content/themes/thatguy/dist/img/modules/header/loading.gif
when you are 5 turret behind, enemy is fed, and 4 person flames, and one afks while doing it, in your team its worth to surr, as its unfun
Have had plenty of games where it's 4v5 and we are down 12v30 but people still won't ff
I've won plenty of games where it's 4v5 and we are down 12v30......hell, I was on a team that won a game last week where before we turned it around we had 0 towers and the they have something like 45 kills to our 7. Then suddenly our team got their shit together, started making good play decisions, and over time outplayed the enemy until we made them surrender. That's right, we didn't take the nexus, we turned it around so hard that the enemy gave up.
On top of all this, if your team is all late game champs then odds are you will be down something like 10 to 30 at the halfway mark. Then the enemy falls off, you spike, and they don't get more than 4 kills for the rest of the game while your team proceeds to clean up every team fight and take towers at an exponential rate.
I'm willing to bet you've been in more games where you're down 4-5 and 12-30 and you've lost than won.
Sure, you can stress yourself for an extra 20 minutes and hope your paper towers hold up for long enough for you to turtle and be as full built as the enemy team; or you could just move on and win your next game. You do lose sometimes, you don't have to stress yourself over one or two out of the hundreds you'll play every season.
It's ok to just move on.
This game stresses you out when you're not winning? Man, that's unhealthy and not the point of video games. If it makes you stress out and unhappy then, honestly, you should get another hobby as this one is not healthy for you. My friends like to drink, I myself find it to be ok even though the hangovers make it unappealing. I don't drink though, not because of hangovers, but because I understand that most of the time that I get drunk I end up in a bad mood. Since drinking is supposed to be fun (ironic since it's a depressant) and I don't have fun while drinking, I simply don't drink. Haven't drank in years. At first I thought it sucked, until I realized that I hadn't been upset, angry, or stressed out since I stopped. Bear in mind that even when I did drink it wasn't that much, I just don't handle it well is all. This game is alcohol to a lot of people. A lot of those people end up angry most of the time they are playing, and just convince themselves that they are having a good time. If this game gets to you then it's not really the right hobby for you. Just being honest.
I don't know why you're upvoted, but you're full of shit.
You want to pretend that getting absolutely shit stomped for 20+ minutes in a wildly lopsided game isn't stressful? It doesn't give you an emotional reaction at all? Sure, be a sociopath, that's cool. But don't reply to me and act like I'm weird and should do something else with my time.
Poor meme, poor excuse to compare alcoholism to playing a video game, generally just an unhealthy approach to life. Nothing about what you said was worthwhile or honest, it was just you pretending to be holier than thou and acting like a sociopath, pretending somehow you've never had a negative reaction to this game.
By the way, that whole "it's unhealthy to have a negative emotion" thing is why depression is a wildly stigmatized disease, you might want to approach your views on emotional response like you've lived in the 21st century.
Some people develop unhealthy addictions and convince themselves it's ok. Sometimes league can be one of those. I personally liked the comparison, cause it showed he at least put some thought into it.
P.S. I hardly surrender, I believe that most matches can be turned if played eight, but I do know when to back down and just try a different match
my mother and sister get very depressed every now and then, seems to be chronic so I understand that negative reactions are important and sometimes unavoidable, but this is just a game man, and it can get irritating, but then you just get a friend and pull some stupid shit like blitz and kassadin bot lane, for fun in a normal match.
Hi Dardrek, thank you for your kind words. I'm sorry to hear about your mother and sister. I had really bad depression growing up. Obviously I still get depressed as anyone does, but it's nothing compared to what it used to be. I debated ending myself a few times, saw councelors for most of my childhood, and my earliest memory is of talking to a psychiatrist. I went through all of that, and ended up ok on the other side. I tell you this because I want you to know that there is a way through it, and that they will be ok :)
For me, the most helpful thing was when people would be brutally honest with me about it rather than tell me things that I wanted to hear. I could pick up on it, and it would kill my ability to trust them. Even though people who spoke to me without a filter would bother me, it's those things that jarred me loose. I'm not saying to be like this to your mom and sister. It's your family, you know how they will react to things. I'm just sharing my version of that experience in hopes that it helps in some form big or small.
Man, I know you will refuse to, but look at what you said here. You can't do that realistically, and tell me that you aren't excessively angry. Also, yes I am going to tell you that I don't get mad in losing games of League. Once upon a time, I probably would have. I've been playing games since the original Zelda first came out. I've been gaming for my entire life. I did used to get upset when I'd lose video games, but as I began to mature as a person I realized that this was nonsensical. I've long since refused to let that happen. Now, that's not to say that there aren't times that I'm aware that I'll be upset if I continue playing because it's just one of those days. After all, we all have those days. I'm aware of it though, so I (this is going to be a foreign concept probably) turn off the game, and go do something else with my time that won't leave me annoyed by it. It's not that I don't get upset, it's that I remove myself from situations that have that affect on me. There are things in life that infuriate me, it's just not video games.
I don't know where you're getting meme from to be honest. Also, the alcoholism was a very good metaphor. You're most likely addicted to this game, and are in denial about it. You'll be angry at anything that suggests it. It's natural. I don't blame you. Everything I said was honest. As far as worthwhile, honestly that's more something for each individual to decide, but I do consider it worthwhile or I wouldn't have wasted my time on it. You seem to think I'm here for some form of gain. This saddens me since I'm honestly only trying to give you what I consider to be advice that you could use. I'm hardly holier than thou, but for you to think that there is no one out there that has a perspective that is useful for you unless you like what they say is sad.
I actually used to suffer from depression very badly. I've learned to cope with it, but that doesn't mean that I don't understand that it's serious. (learning to cope with that is probably what makes me able to not get frustrated at games btw). I do think that people with depression do tend to feel too sorry for themselves though because it was only after I came to terms with the fact that I'm depressed because I allow myself to be rather than taking the initiative to find a solution. That didn't make it easy by any means, but it did work. This third paragraph wasn't going to be written because, quite frankly, the struggles of my life aren't really your business, but then I realized that for you to call out depression specifically like that makes it seem like you are depressed. I want you to know that you aren't alone, and that it can be beaten. I know that you wrote what you wrote in anger, but I want you to know that I'm not holding it against you. I never said you were weird, I said that this game is probably unhealthy for you, and if I were to be blunt with you, I do think that you need to find something that stresses you out less to do with your time. Maybe something as simple as just less League than you currently play would suit you better? I don't know because ultimately it's up to you. You konw what's best for you (I hope), and you know if you want what's best.
On one final note. The reason that I'm upvoted is because how angry you are is beyond obvious and they can tell that it's something you needed to hear. I just wish you would have listened with open ears :( ....also, I specifically typed this much because I want you to understand that someone who doesn't even know you cares about you enough that they're willing to dedicate five minutes of their life to try to help you out and talk to you. You're not alone man. You're never alone.
You're memeing too hard bud. I'm not going to read a book that ends with "how angry you are is beyond obvious.." like you know me from 2 posts.
You're the kind of guy that tilts his own team on purpose and has spent the last 8 years of his life on the internet saying, "you mad bro?", which is cool; I get that anti social behavior. But it's not like you're actually trying to have a discussion here.
Goodluck trolling people online though, I'm sure those little bastards will learn some day that those 1/100 victories you get by struggling through those extra 25 minutes of being shit-stomped is worth it!
(tl;dr basically, for those keeping track, you just spent your time and energy personally attacking me based on your perceived view of my emotional state for saying it would be better in some cases to surrender rather than sit there getting your ass pounded. Good for you though, that psych 101 class is paying off huge.)
#HelicopterLawnmower?
[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
true that. 99% of games are winnable, but people are too busy figuring out whose fault it is that they don't focus on the game.
I'm pretty sure that more than 1% of games have an afk.
you can win even with an afk.
It's a pain in the ass to do though...I'm on board with them getting triple punishment for afking and their team walks free.
But it's not even funny to try. It's just exasperating.
I mean I won a 2v5 once, but we only had Yi and Fiddlesticks so I dunno if that counts.
How does that... Did they AFK, like, near the end, or?
Nah, I would just jump in, meditank them and Fiddle would ult in for quadras and pentas over and over because they never learned and I was very bronze elo (I've been ranked Silver every season but I tend to play with people in high silver/gold so I can usually handle myself fine). They finally stopped doing that about the time I hit end game build and could just glide through their entire team without even ulting so I could save ult to drop a tower or two every time I aced them.
Ah bronze, never change you ridiculous sack of crap.
Unless you meant how did we 2v5, my team kept raging really hard because they couldn't face check the enemy team for fun and walk out alive and they kept spam surrendering but I was duo with Fiddle and lolno, they were jerks so we were wasting their time until the three of them rage quit then it became "let's see how long we can make this last for". We had no right to win, but somehow we swung it, I have a screen-cap of the scoreboard after the game somewhere, might be on my old computer though. Just checked, not on this one, I need to find that though, game had me rolling.
I've won a 1 V 5 custom game before. I played Fiddlesticks and snowballed like crazy. Some of them tried to splitpush towards the end and got me down to my inner turrets, but it was already too late. I was fed enough that anyone trying to stop me on their own would die during my CC, and when they tried grouping up, I would just ult them for a massacre. Of course, if the enemy team didn't have a couple feeders (I ended up with 40+ kills), it wouldn't have been possible for me to win, but it was fun all the same. It wasn't a very serious game.
I've also done 1 v 5s against bots, though that isn't much of a challenge at all when you can abuse their poor AI. If you play as Shaco, you set boxes in a bush near the enemy turret then drop a ward at the edge of the turret range to lure the bots over. After they kill the ward, they'll chase you into the bush, giving you an easy double kill before minions even spawn on the map... They'll keep blindly walking into your traps all game letting you repeatedly ace them until you practically 1-shot them with AP Shaco's shiv... It's really not very sporting but it's kind of amusing.
I think Fiddlesticks is the best champion for fighting while outnumbered, so it makes sense that you had a Fiddlesticks in your 2 v 5 as well. I remember Athene did a custom 1 v 5 as Ryze, but I don't remember if he won or not.
For me, a game isn't unwinnable because we are far behind, it's unwinnable if my team is unwilling to work together, whether that's grouping and fighting, or stalling while a teammate splits, and so on. I usually surrender those games, it's just not enjoyable having to fight my own team.
On the other hand, if my team is working together, even if we are far behind, I'll usually stick it out, since its a fun challenge.
Yeah, sure, most games are 'winnable' if everyone isn't in a bad mood or miserable.
Sometimes it's less about being a winnable or unwinnable game and more about "Do I really want to sit here for another 20 minutes stressing myself out and struggling not to die while my teammates fight among each other, or do I want to stop and go eat a sandwich?"
I'll take the sandwich. https://media.giphy.com/media/13enYCsF1motnW/giphy.gif
Yea but if they are breaking into our base while we've taken zero objectives and the gold is obviously well in their favor, it's time to hang it up.
Haha its funny that people listen and upvote to you when you post this because you're a, "celebrity" on the boards.
People pitchfork me when I say we can still win.
Sounds like someone is jelly http://49.media.tumblr.com/e012978ee99e1302fe89c543c9f7055e/tumblr_nordztlaWi1syjt2wo1_500.gif
sniffle
Thats not it at all!
Related, what the flying f*ck is that fish..Thing?
He just threw a fucking pizza... and it landed perfectly on the roof... I wonder how many tries that took, or maybe it was just animated.
funny story, that was actually all one take. He did it the first try and they just kept it.
That's almost as good as the hospital scene in the Dark Knight o.o Perfect pizza in one try because Walter White.
He is Walter fucking White. He can do whatever he wants. http://cdn.gurl.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/breaking-bad-exactly-how-i-want-it.gif
A lot of people don't understand that scene. He didn't throw a pizza on the roof. He was angry, the pizza understood that, and since it's Walter White the pizza decided that it had better make a break for it. He's not throwing the pizza, the pizza is trying to run from Heisenberg.
Harvey Dent, can we trust him?
Some games are winnable. But when you lose all lanes, and your jungle. When all your champions are early game and the enemy has late game. When you got only 1 turret and the enemy has 6. When you got no dragons or barons, but the enemy has 1 of each.
You know the only way to win that game is if 4 of them DC and don't come back for 5 minutes. Sry, not all games are winnable. And when this happens. I'm just going to grab something to eat, start playing with all hand, ignoring my team and constantly vote no to all subsequent surrender votes. So that almost everyone in the team goes on tilt for not agreeing to surrender earlier.
you got no clue how fun it is to see the entire party burning
You mean the entire party bombards you with sick insults? That's awful.
Score: 3-47 Laughing Fish: Guys dont give up we can still win!
That may have happened.... http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac195/pew_pew/General/Fillioncanttalk.gif
Only once or twice... or three times or you know a couple.
Nathan Fillion feels your pain.

I'm disappointed you didn't respond with "you're godamn right"
